Wow you really have been through the mill haven't you both. My sympathies to both of you.

I can see how doing lists would be a tremendous help when you are working your way through dealing with your mum's estate and with your grief

Can't believe someone would just come and hit your OH like that. What can he possibly been thinking (the man that did it I mean). I hope that he loses his job and gets put away, that is well out of order.

I am guess as you haven't been online for a few days, that the surgeon, said OH was ok to fly and that you are now enjoying the smog of Hong Kong.

Yes, Hong Kong is wonderful - smoggy, sore feet, legs are aching & am exhausted - but it's wonderful.

Will update once I'm back - just nipped on to check wages had been paid.

PS - I forgot to say, DH is fine - no fractures & gentleman comncerned has now been dismissed. But again, will update when I get back

I've been reading posts lately but not posting (as you will have noticed) but I will restart as I really found that saying what I had to do motivated me.

The updates are :-
Assaulter of DH no longer works for the company and I believe the court date is set for Friday
Hong Kong was wonderful - and as it was a really busy holiday (out and about 10 hours a day doing touristy things) we didn't have time to think of the chaos of our lives back in good old Blighty. Most of the Christmas pressies have been bought as well as a few lovely Buddhist things - I'm not a Buddhist but I do love the basis of the religion.
Mum's house is back on the market - the really interested party couldn't come up with the goods. This is not good news as I really want closure on this but hey - the estate agents will just have to work for their money again.
Wood burning stove has been ordered & if everything goes to plan then it should be in before Christmas - we're already sourcing supplies & have some pallets in the shed already. Does Santa bring you chainsaws if you've been good?

Anyway - I have to go out and about for a bit of shopping & remove a sold sign from an estate agts board. I have a busy housewifey weekend planned as neither DH or I have been in the mood for doing anything but sitting around like slobs lately but I'll catch up with people later - once I've harvested crops on Farmville - I'm hooked & I love it.

Hi again folks,

Not much happening these days Fire Fox - well not in my world anyway.

Have survived another round of job cuts & our department is moving buildings next year but as it's just up the road from where we are at the moment it's a good move.
DH's assaulter was (we think) in court on Friday but we've not had an update on the outcome yet.
DH has a nasty throat infection but thankfully, he's kept it to himself so far.

So on to next week.

I'm starting to car share with one of the guys in the work tomorrow so I've had to organise the meals for the week & am about to go out shopping for the remaining items I need (not many though as my cupboards, fridge & freezer are embarrassingly full).
I don't know how the car sharing will work out as I like my freedom, but it makes so much sense I'm giving it a go. I'll save £80 a month on petrol alone and I will also save more as I'm not going to be stopping on the way home for 'just a pint of milk that costs £10' - you know the type of milk I mean........
So once the shopping is in I'm away to make soup for tonight & tomorrow's lunch - carrot & coriander. I've found about about 3lbs of carrots & the same of potatoes in the fridge as well as about 15 onions so - lots of veggies to use up in the next week or so and any form of carrot/potato/onion soup is being looked at.

Had to show a viewer round Mum's house last night - well, DH did. The EA are meant to do this but as it would be another week before they could arrange this we decided to go for it ourselves.

Anyhow - enough rambling - must go shop as once this shop is done I'm aiming for a whole 5 NSDs in a row - it is possible......

I spent boxing day down your way. Five miles out it started snowing again and we feared we were going to have to cut our visiting very short but thankfully it stopped after an hour and although the roads were slidey they were passable.
