I will be loading all the information to my blog. If TBeckett can update us he will but if he remains silent on the matter I guess we can draw our own conclusions.

No problem. As balloonist says, check out http://lossofbargain.googlepages.com/home

Google takes a snapshot of each page it examines and caches (stores) that version as a back-up. The cached version is what Google uses to judge if a page is a good match for your query.

Practically every search result includes a Cached link. Clicking on that link takes you to the Google cached version of that web page, instead of the current version of the page. This is useful if the original page is unavailable because of:

Internet congestion, overloaded, slow website or the owner’s recently removing the page from the Web.

Sometimes you can access the cached version from a site that otherwise require registration or a subscription.

Note: Since Google’s servers are typically faster than many web servers, you can often access a page’s cached version faster than the page itself.

If Google returns a link to a page that appears to have little to do with your query, or if you can’t find the information you’re seeking on the current version of the page, take a look at the cached version.

The fact that B&Q lost the dishawasher case and changed their terms and conditions speaks volumes. If TBeckett has come to an arrangement with B&Q, what of it? If he has signed a confidentiality agreement then he has to abide by it. I personally wouldn't blame him for that but B&Q have to know that there are plenty of other people who are willing to pick up where he left off.

I just want to point out that I am not a TBeckett sockpuppet either, before anyone says it.

    Dear all.

Firstly, thank you for your concern.

Secondly, I have not sold my soul to the devil in return for 100 pieces of silver. In fact, a conversation with the 'devil' would be nice.

I have a choice, either I can explain what has happened and jeapodise my own case or I can tell you that i can't go into why the site has come down to protect my interest. If I plump for option a) I will be accused of getting into bed with B&Q and if I plump for option b) I run of risk of giving B&Q ammo against my case.

I have been toying with how to respond all night and in the interest of MSE members, I may as well jeapodise my own case rather that face critique, since I haven't really lost the £60 court fee as I won it from B&Q originally over the dishwasher saga.

The decision to close my site came from an email I received last week from an unrelated legal source. It stated that I should have a duty to mitigate any loss when making a claim for loss of bargain. Fundamentally, claiming like you guys are, i.e. finding the cheapest comparison is the correct method of mitigating the loss, however, it could be viewed that claiming loss of bargain, yet attempting to get everyone else to do it as par for the course may lose my case. If I lose my case against B&Q for this reason, it could hamper the whole thing. There are some other angles as well, one being that I ignored a request for a little longer to issue a formal reply to my LBA. Having read some legal direction on the case, a picture of unfairness could be portrayed. Small claims courts are not judge and jury and soft facts have a huge bearing.

In addition, public forums are also great places for the other side to harvest information. There is enough info out there now.

The moral of this story is when reclaiming and making public comments, it is often better to have a unique username.

B&Q can not connect my ID here with my real name.

All the information which was on TBeckett's site will be uploaded to my blog, http://iwantmywaterbutt.blogspot.com. I saved all the pages from his site because I anticipated that at some point this would happen. I would suggest you all copy and paste the information from my blog whilst it is up; at some point I may come under similar pressure.
