I am SO excited - found out today we're having a GIRL! Yippee...Already have 2 boys aged 16 and 7 so this is absolutely great news.

Anyway sorry not posted for a while - since my bankruptcy due to my company failure 2 weeks ago, been spending a lot of time on the bankruptcy board. Things got a lot better now thank goodness.

    Hi girls,
I had a horrible day yesterday. It started Monday night actually..I posted on here that I had heartburn..well it went on for hours n hours and I couldn't breathe right..bump was hard as a rock up at the top! Went to bed still suffering..couldn't get to sleep untill I think I exhausted myself with all the tossin and turning and I started to drift off..only to be woken by my son crying saying his throat and chest were hurting. OH got up and gave him some medicine and saw him back into bed but he wouldn't settle, wouldn't stop crying. I went into him and lay with him on his bed for a while to calm him down but within 30mins of me getting back into my own bed he was up again crying. It was much the same for the whole night. 7.30am came and time to get up but he said he couldn't. He was as white as a sheet and was struggling to breathe (he has occasional outbursts of asthma, when he has had a cold or something) So he went on his inhaler and I phoned the doctors to get him an appointment. Took daughter to school, then on route to the docs he was sick..luckily he had said he felt sick before we left so we were prepared with an empty plastic marg container! He was getting worse in the doctors waiting room so I asked if he could be seen as a priority cos he was gasping for breath! Were seen shortly after and told to take him straight to hospital (30miles away though,as our local is rubbish!!!!) Rung hubby,he said come for me,I'm coming,I'll drive. More drama...hubby had to pull over onto the hard shoulder of the motorway for a few mins on the way cos he said he came over all faint!
When we got to the childrens ward they were waiting for us and got him onto SATS machine straight away which showed his sats were under 92 so sraight onto nebullizer. He was also given steroid medicine for his lungs and another nebullizer session. He improved abit but not enough for them to be happy,he was on hourly observation and 10puffs of inhaler. After 6hours we were moved onto a ward, then finally a doctor agreed to dischsrge him at 9pm.
I was prepared to have to stay in the night with him though (have done before) as when they did the staff shift change, the night nurse came round to say hello and that she would be looking after our ward tonight.
We were waiting another half an hour for the discharge letter and supplies of inhalers ect..so when we finally got home and into our beds it was such a reliefbedtime.gif I slept like a baby all night long, while hubby got up twice to do inhaler with Ellis (he still on 4hourly)
He's fine today, but Ive kept him off school another day for him to recover fully..he is so tired out after having to work sooo hard yesterday just to breathe,my poor little man.
Off to read what Ive missed and have tea,my stomachs rumbling but I can't decide what to have, think it's the heat!

Congratulations Charlie! Another girl at last!
And congrats to Booboo for your boy - forgot that yesterday!

Had a nice lunch out with my friend then went to the dentist which wasn't so nice. After getting my injection, my heart started racing (I normally don't have any probs with injections), and I had to concentrate really hard on slow breathing to regulate it again. Thought I was having a panic attack. Then, when I was getting my filling on the right side of my mouth, my jaw on the left side locked into place and was absolutely agony. The dentist was asking if something was wrong as I was holding my jaw, but they didn't take the instruments out of my mouth so I couldn't speak and started choking on my saliva! It seems fine now though thankfully, but not a great experience!

mustbemad, what annoys me most is that I was promised this wouldn't happen after the last lot of numpties. And I hate that the kids are suffering, I really don't feel like I should be left alone with them feeling like this but I've not got much choice, we still need money in the bank on a friday. Plus, how stupid is it to put someone on medication, see them a week later, disregard the fact that they are not happy on them, reduce it and say come back in 4 weeks?

Helen, hope your son gets well soon! It's horrible when they are ill, you feel so helpless. How are you feeling now?

    Have a great meal Tink!!

I had a nap and now I feel worse. But this headache is a tension headache (on top of the headache I have already) and no wonder, makes me even madder than I'm still !!!!ed off!! Oh and know what they put in my notes? 'Feeling miserable on labitalol'. Try 'feels ill and incapable of lookiong after her own children on labitalol'. Miserable. Miserable!!! That's just bloody insulting, makes me sound like a whiney time waster!! Poor DH he is going to get all this when he comes home, and I'll probably be ranting, raving and snotting all at the one time.

ML experts! Just doing some rough (early!) thinking. My new EDD is Boxing Day (which is a Saturday) and obviously Christmas is a bank holiday - so can I request my ML to start on the 28th??? B/c I was going to take previous 4 weeks (or whatever...haven't decided exact quantities) as annual leave.

It sounds technical, but every day is precious & that saves 3! ;)

The latest you can start ML is the Sunday before your EDD.

So I am due Tuesday 22nd and am starting ML on Sunday 20th
aless - I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think you can start your ML after the EDD on your MatB1  you are entitled to your BH whilst on ML, so you will be able to add those days to the end of your leave.
BTW - my ML, starts the day before my EDD :D

I found out today that if you get more than 20 days holiday you might not be entitled to Bank Holidays but I am going to look into this as I thought you couldn't lose annual leave.

I get 30 days holiday PLUS 8 bank holidays - the law says you have to be given a minimum of 20 days PLUS bank holidays so for me 28 days rather than 38 days.

I'll find out though and let you know. xx
