TBH I don't know the legalities of it, but there is another thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1769887 about it. Seems to be that you can be 'known as' so long as it is not done for fraudulent reasons. My best mate has went through 3 names in the time I have known her (since high school). Officially she is a Little but at school she was a Hughes.

Just write a letter to the school etc.

Who's names does she have right now? Are you wanting to change it to the same as her brothers?

she has mine she was supose to have philips but my step-"!!!!!! (father) forced me to put her as mine and i dont like that my kids have to different last names i am going to changed it .. well add philips name on to her name when i have the cash (in about month when i write my will) just wondering if i can do it now so she can get use to it x

You can change her name using an online deed poll service for around £10. I recently changed my DS's for the 2nd time. First time I used a solicitor for a stupid amount of money!

There we go!!! Get the school sorted first, I do remember that one teacher insisted on calling me by my 'old' name. Actually she also called me Donna and not Dawn, and I got into trouble for ignoring her (as my Mummy told me to do) :rotfl:

See I got the opposite tia, I got called Dawn all the time instead of Donna !!!
