Am currently debating with myself over this. Have been told the recovery is much easier, better than after emergency section. How has your recovery gone? Just with the way Oh is and has been for the last 3 months, if he carries on like this, he will be in one ward and i'll be in another!
Will have a 5 year old, 2 dogs and a new baby to look after. I know that i must have been in pain last time after, but it seems to have faded from my memory. How bad is the pain from the cut etc. Any advice, experience welcome.
My emergency section with DD was a complete nightmare, I had a bad heamorrage and was in hospital for 6 days after she was born, needed 2 transfusions in the hospital and got 3 infections in my wound after I came home, and to top all of that off they sewed me up wonky :eek:
No seriously, with DD it took me about 5 weeks to feel anywhere near normal, and this one has been fantastic, I am so glad I decided to go with my section. was walking about the next morning and was happy to shower and stuff the following day. Will be 3 weeks tomorrow and other than still feeling a bit bruised inside, I feel fine and am able to do most things. Cant walk too far without being a bit sore, and find standing up too long can hurt a bit too, but other than that, I would say I was functional enough after a week and have got better every day since. The two best things I have done with my life

I am so shattered today! I went to a work party with OH last night. Drank non alcholic drinks all night, and we were only there for about 2 and a half hours so home and tucked up in bed by 10.30pm, but I feel like I've been clubbing all night!
Had antenatal appt today. Had 1+ protein and 2+ each of leukocytes and ketones in my wee, and still haven't put back all the weight I've lost since being sick 3 weeks ago. They've sent my urine off for a culture test in case its a UTI and ordered a blood count. BP was normal. Anyone know what the chances are that the urine test means a UTI?
Sounds likely that you do have a UTI, they will culture it and see what strain it is and to which antibiotics it is resistant, till then plenty of water and cranberry juice if you have it (and can stomach the stuff). Ketone's, did you eat enough before you produced your urine sample? Might just be your body is taking longer to get over whatever you had a few weeks ago (was it viral maybe?).
Hope you feel better soon though!!:(:(:(:(

I do the same job as you, we get nothing after 39 weeks and don't think we can accrue holidays even the 5 weeks we do actually get paid for, I agree though it is a question for the union. If you do please let me know. XToo many children, too little time!!!0 -
