Currently not on any benefits as boyfriend has been supporting me however one income isn't going to be enough when baby is born and need to look at other income we can claim.
So, what benefits could I claim and when?
Thanks everyone for your congrats, very exciting :D

You most likely won't qualify for any additional benefits when pregnant, but you'll get a £190 grant for health in pregnancy when you're about 26 weeks (? i think?) and you will probably qualify for child and working tax credits once it's born, aswell as child benefit.

When did you last work? Might be entitled to MA as skinty said

Broken you can claim a sure start grant as well once you are 29wks gone if you are on benefits or recieve higher rate tax credits.

You can try claiming job seekers allowance, but it depends on how much your OH makes. Then you can apply for the surestart maternity grant at 29 weeks and the HiPG at 24 weeks. After baby is born you can claim tax credits and child benefit.

For better advice ring your job centre and they can tell you if you are entitled to anything, especially if you don't work and haven't done in the past few months.

A lot depends on your work history over the last 66 wks prior to your due date.

I forgot the HiPG. But I think that's all.

Doubt she'd get the surestart grant but not sure, i thought you had to be in receipt of income based benefits. It's all confusing!

And possibly the sure start grant, depending on what your partner makes. That's at 29 wks I think.
