Aaaaargh. I have been in all day in the stifling heat waiting for a service engineer to come and fix the washing machine (a rebooked appointment as he needed a part for it). When there was no sign at 5.15 I phoned the helpline number to find out what was happening, and had to go through the automated system 5 times before I got anyone sensible - once being transferred to a computer shop in Brighton, who said they get about half a dozen calls a day and have done for the last 4 years as Currys have the wrong number on their system! Even customer services transferred me to the (wrong) place rather than sorting it out for me direct.
After all that, the engineer has just knocked on my door (at 10 to 6 in the evening) to say they had sent him the wrong part, so he can't fix the damned thing today after all, but he'll try and get the right part and come back tomorrow.
Can I take maternity leave from being a mum and housewife please - starting immediately!0 -
Helen- I totally know what you mean about rushing around at work. I can do everything fine, but when it gets manically busy I really struggle to do it all fast, IYSWIM. If I were you I would call up the manager you phoned you Friday and say that as things have changed today, and you now have less time to do the same amount of work, you think you require a new risk assessment as you feel you are now under more stress.
The hot weather definitely makes it much harder too- first day back for me and I struggled big time! My feet are throbbing and my back is really sore now.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Right ladies, finally caught up and now got to go out for my 4D scan.
I'll try my best to upload it when I get home. Thanks for all your nice thoughts over the weekend. Fingers crossed she stays a she and is facing out so I can see her face.

Nicki, that would be awesome! Same with those things you get if your employed... days off... Imagine, a day off from cooking, cleaning, crying weins.... bliss.
Family has been fed and watered, juts got to do the dishes, bring the washing in, think about ironing.... Dh is off to collect his brother and they are oiling the patio set outside (it's a 10mt round table and 6 huge chairs so a two man job for sure!). I think I'll do the dishes and some ironing so I can stay insid, it's still too hot for me outside.
Did I mention that DS2 was really sweet earlier? I'm wearing a vest top and I always wear them with a shrug, today I'm too hot. DS2 pointed at it and said 'I like that Mum'So clear too! His speech is getting so much better. Reminds me I have to phone and see whats happenening with OT, physio and SALT during the summer, want to have a word with the OT about a disabled facilities grant to see if we can get help toward the cost of a loft conversion to give DS2 more space.

... salary, smp, pension and my all time wish list item - restrictions on the hours to be worked under the Working time Directive
Mind you I guess I've been promised a promotion - from managing 2 unruly kids to 3 - so shouldn't complain really :rotfl:0
