The natal hynotherapy stuff I ordered (not the same as hypnobirthing but presumably based on similar ideas) refered to research that did indicate fewer CS and pain relief so who knows... being relaxed and calm must be a good thing but I guess you can get into that state in many different ways - whatever works for youMFW Challenge member no. 96 - on hold! :rolleyes:

Thanks Tiamai. It does make a difference when people understand where you're coming from, rather than just think you're a random loon, who should just get a grip! Not that anyone has ever said that to me, mind you, but its always in the back of your mind that this must be what they are thinking. God knows what Freud would say about that though!
I am sure I will be looking for development problems in the newbie anyway, cos there's always the risk when you have one on the spectrum that others will be too, but its such a huge spectrum and I know so much more about it now than I did when DD was born that I am sure even with another one we would cope, and there won't be any added nagging doubt that something around the time of the birth made things worse, or triggered a propensity which was latent. Added to which, to be completely honest, it will lessen the fear about me succumbing to PND/PPP again for both me and the OH, and that's not to be sniffed at either.
Sounds like a plan then. Know what you mean about always being on the lookout. Even though I know that what happened to DS2 was random, and the odds are in the millions of it happening again, I'll still be looking.skintchick wrote: »Am I the only one who gets excited the closer I get to the top, rather than scared?
Am I weird?
I'm excited! Scared too, but more |I just want it over with so I can stop worrying!chopsticks wrote: »Has anyone heard from Tara since her second sweep this morning?
Nothing at all, maybe it means she is puffing and panting as we speak? Hope so for her sake!0 -

I think it's the unknown - I have been to classes and done lots of reading, but no two births are ever the same, so I can't really know what to expect.
I'm looking forward to the birth! I feel really ready for it and can;t wait for it to start!:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Thanks Nicki, that's very interesting. I've done yoga for three years now and still learning to breath properly! So don't see how you could do hypnobirthing in a two day course. Might go for some pregnancy yoga though because I can't do much in my normal yoga classes now but don't want to stop.
I'm still doing yoga at 36 weeks and find I can do most things - is your teacher altering poses for you?
I am now able to get my breaths down to just two per minute - the same as advanced yogis - so I'm hoping that will stand me in good stead for the birth.
Anyway, whatever you have done will be better than nothing.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

I'm excited! And scared. And desperate for it all to be over, and completely not ready. It's quite complicated, really.
Edit:
Husband is playing the piano. He's so thrilled that it's here, and I'm so happy he's happy that I can't stop smiling.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
