I know what you mean about waiting till you are more settled into teaching. I thought i was, but it was too much altogether, and though i am happy i do feel i have thrown it away a bit. My kids are my world though and i wouldn't change it.
I'm only in Leeds Cha, not too far if you fancy babysitting!
Pavlov's dog - I know exactly what you mean about getting established in teaching before kids. I'd be M3 in September and I do worry really whether I'd have been better hanging on another year, especially as I found my NQT year pretty tough and then had a pretty tough pregnancy what with sickness then the SPD. I kind of feel like I had a good term from last Sept to Christmas but other than that it's been a bit of a struggle. You have to do what fits in best with you though, it's only a job ultimatelyUpdating soon...0 -
Sounds like a fruitful Saturday night with everything going in the right direction. I have been reading your diary intermittently for a while and it really takes me back to the times when my boys (I have 3) were small. Like yours they were huge and always hungry. Now they are all grown up and I really can't think where the time has gone. You are so right to follow your heart and be a SAHM. No cars and stuff can ever replace that time. Good luck and have a good weekend,
SquirrelPaid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -
chelle do you find the free scratchies worth the time/effort?
i looked into daily clicking at the start of the summer but it seemed like a lot of work for little (and unguaranteed) reward so i never really bothered with it. i think i might just be better off focusing my attention on keeping up with the surveys i am sent ( i do yougov, ipsos, mytns, pigsback and p!necone).
we're due to exchange and complete on friday so i'm trying to clear my desk and sort out some of the many school things to do that i, in my infinite wisdom , decided could wait until the summer holidays. so i'll have a weekend of packing at home and then 3 inset days of unpacking in our newly built school *if* (big if ) it is actually ready to be handed over to us.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
cha97michelle wrote: »Have school only allowed 3 days to move into the new build? When ours was a new build a couple of years ago they gave everyone an extra 2 weeks. The kids loved it that year.
next week is our 7th week off. we have 3 inset days and then the kids are being phased in over the thursday and friday for induction. i went in for A level results day and there is no way it will all be finished in time. the bad weather hasn't helped much either.
only certain departments will be able to access their new classrooms before next week. how the hell they expect us to get ready in 3 days when it took us 6 months to pack up the old school sites is anyones guess :eek:know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
OOooh I don't envy you. Our first year in our new build was awful!!! Such hard work hardly anything was ready and most things were broken or kept breaking. :rotfl:
We were also 2 weeks late going back (or rather the kids were). In fact we've been in for 2 years and it's still not right. The roof has leaked, we've had a flood because the drains aren't working properly. The door of my classroom broke and I was locked in there for 2 hours!!! Fortunately I had a free period though. We STILL haven't gotten all the storage we were promised. It's a pain in the bottom. But still, it's all good fun and a good bonding experience with the staff. I've come to see if there's an update on your telescope..why am I getting excited about it ??
I'm hoping you've made a good few quid on it especially as it was free from your in-laws, fingers crossed for you. Hopefully it will cover the scrap metal and breadcrumbs she got rid of ! :rotfl:I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -

I've also sold a kids coat, a couple of pairs of jeans, and a hat and glove set. Nice going for a little bit of effort, although only a £5 for the rest of the stuff, lots of clutter going.
That starts me off nicely for the 100 day challenge. ~Once it clears that is.
You go girl!!!!

My kids are 7 and 8 now, and I have told them we are not doing the big parties anymore. It was getting that it was costing me about £100 each time as well as party bag stuff etc. But now they say they want friends round for tea instead but not sure I want kids running around the house
My DDs bday is October so I need to decide pretty soon what we are doing!
