This thread is really inspirational. It's been a pleasure to sit and read through this afternoon as I sup me cuppa. Thanks.
Look forward to keeping up with your overpayments. We're doing something similar, but now I'm going to get out all my bits of paper, and see where i can pay in more if possible! You've spurred me on. ;o)

If it makes you all feel any better - i have been sat around on my bum far too much this past month feeling sorry for myself, and i have really put on a lot of weight around my middle. I daren't even get on the scales. Yet another area of my life that needs a bit more TLC and attention.

Oh, you're winning on the overpayments, but I betcha I'm winning on the weight gain! :rotfl:

Just wanted to say well done on your progress, its hard not to get too obesessed overpaying and forgetting about taking care of yourself, i find that ive still not found the perfect ratio of overpay/having a life balance as i become obsesed like an addiction! The good news for me my wife and son is that we just got flights to italy for £6 LOL

keep up the good work everyone!:T

    Hi Michelle.

I've found ur diary really interesting to read. In lots of ways ur situation sounds similar 2 mine.
I have 2 pre-schoolers and recently made the decision not to return to my teaching job. It was a massive decision for me as , just like you, my 3 days a week income matched my husbands 5 day a week income ( and he works 12 hr days.......)

But I do feel it was the right decision . I felt I probably would be really stressed trying to juggle everything. And my husband#s view was that he would rather we were poorer than me being snappy/ stressed!

If you don't go back you may feel ( like me) that a weight has been lifted off ur shoulders. And you sound like u r already great at managing your money! Hope everything goes the way you want it to.

    Yeah on the free cereal!
I hear ya re teaching I did a PGCE with the inention of being a teacher but i realised it wasnt for me-the stress, the hassle, the horrible kids! Urgh too much hard work if you're a concioncious person, so i hung on & finished the course but it's enabled me to work in museums as a education officer-now i get different kinds of stresses but can leave at 4.30pm and dont have to do any work in the evenings or at weekends. phew!

I want to work as i love my job, but i don't want to do it poorly and not have time for my kids.

my thoughts exactly! And why I do intend to go back one day. x

You are doing so so well. We are actuay in an earilly similar position with an exception being we need to upsize soon.

I have dd1 who is 2 almost 3 and dd2 who has just turned 1. I returned to work around 3 months ago and like you i'm struggling juggling work/being mummy/house. I'm sure we will both get it sorted it is just trial and error.
