Mozilla - delete and reinstall - how to save bookmarks?

Why don't you just save the profile??? Then when you need to reinstall Firefox, you just overwite the profile.
You can save the folder anywhere. USB stick, CD...what are you thinking?
OK I am not that techie, but this job is supposed to be so simple even I can do it, but it is proving not to be so! What do you mean by "just save the profile"
I do not want to uninstall FF!
It was, (and I believe still), possible to do what I intend, i.e. save to desktop!
People appear to have done it.
It gives the option to do so.
Yet it won't do so in HTML!! WHY NOT?Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
If you just follow the instructions to which I have linked, it is easy. Just tried it myself.
You can save the whole profile, copy the bookmarmarks in HTML.
Just follow my link instructions and ignore all else.
If you need more help, just give me more details. OS for example.0 -

I did try this, as per my post #19, "When I go to,"internal profile backup folder:" it just gives me a list of folders,(just the headings with no separate bookmarks), and as such there is nothing for me to click on to open a bookmark page, which I could do on previous back ups using V2."
My OS is Windows XP.
This should be a very simple task as per the "organise bookmarks" button!Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
So, what do you see when you navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
Copy and paste it into Windows Explorer.0 -

How to see Hidden Files and Folders may be necessary, but we have no idea if you are able to follow instructions.
So difficult to know quite where it is that you are going wrong.0 -
Sorry again, the computer wouldn't load anything, then froze then lost internet conn, had to do a restartSo, what do you see when you navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
Copy and paste it into Windows Explorer.Windows Explorer, not Internet Explorer or Firefox
Windows Explorer is what you get when you open 'My Documents' for example.
So how do I copy into W E? there is nowhere to paste it?How to see Hidden Files and Folders may be necessary, but we have no idea if you are able to follow instructions.

I am able to follow instructions as I have done up to now, don't forget I am not techie!
Going wrong is the fact that I should be able to copy these from the "organise bookmarks" very easily, but it does not want to do so, I should not have to be going all through the computer to do so! Why should I need to see "Hidden files and folders" for this operation?Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0
