Mozilla - delete and reinstall - how to save bookmarks?

Hi
I would like to delete Mozilla Firefox (as I think it may be causing some problems on my PC). Then I would like to try installing it afresh.
Is there any way I can save my bookmarks somewhere so they can be reinstalled when I have the new Mozilla Firefox up and running?
It would just save a tedious task of having to re-bookmark everything.
Many thanks in advance.

Hi
You can export them onto your desktop.
Do this:-
Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > File > Export
When you re-install Firefox use a similar sequence to Import them.

Having attempted this previously, it will not save them to the desktop or my documents? Why?
Don't want to uninstall FF, just wanted to back up.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -

Probably because your downloads folder is set to something other than desktop or documents. Thats where the bookmarks.html will be stored.0 -
you could go one step further and use mozbackup.
lets you select what to backup from your firefox profile, or you can back up the whole thing with themes, add-ons, passwords and everything and just re-install it when you start again and start from there.
horribly, horribly useful if you re-format as many times as i do

I have not changed anything on my computer, I had backed up previously using the method described without problems until I selected the latest FF edition, (can't remember the edition and don't know how to find it),which has a slightly different interface.jasonwatkins wrote: »you could go one step further and use mozbackup.

Yes but I want to save a copy to desktop with the option to put onto a disc, that way,(I already have Foxmarks), but still want to be able to save to where I want it!Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
You could also make it with the bleeding edge of teknulugy and download Xmarks.
Brilliant add-on!

Once you have registered and syncronised you can log in from your lappy and do the same there. xmarks will syncronise all your bookmarks to all your putersMags - who loves shopping0 -

Yes I already have that as stated in my post above yours, (formerly Foxmarks).
However Mozilla bookmarks still does not allow me to save to anywhere as others appear to be able to as I said in posts #4 & #7.Look here.
Already got it as stated!Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -

Are you sure?
Mozilla Firefox stores all your personal settings, such as bookmarks, passwords and extensions, in a profile folder, which is stored on your computer. To back up your profile, restore it, or move it to a new location or computer, all you have to do is move or copy the profile folder.0
