So yesterday I did 7 jobs in one town. First up, a department store lunch with dh and toddler dd. All fine, would be a great report, went to pay and realised that teen dd hadn't replaced my debit card when she used it to get cash out for me yesterday. Ugh. Dh was cardless, I didn't have my credit card either, and NO cash. So dh sits there with dd while I trundle down to the nearest branch of my bank. I queue for 50 minutes - no exaggeration! Finally get cash out after showing ID and make it back to dh and dd an hour after leaving to go to the bank. The server had been friendly and played with dd, never once acting frustrated, so I gave her a really good report and hope that mine won't make me look too ditsy. 6 more shops after that, completing my final two glasses shops - ugh, really tired of doing those.
I've finally worked out (yes, you old timers might laugh) that by the time I have messed around with downloading pics/scanning receipts that it takes a lot more time to do reports than most of the shops. So 7 jobs yesterday took around 2.5 hours, 2.5 hours to do reports. £70ish for 5 hours work. I was happy with that!0 -

Time and Time again, people ask the same questions that have been answered several times... and are only a few pages back...
Not having a go but does get a little annoying when the same questions are being asked..;)
I CAN'T FIND IT, now if you can't provide a link to the page fair enough, but don't have a pop at me because you are a little annoyed that I asked a question.
We all need help at times, maybe you will one day.0 -

Awww, yes, sounds like they deserved a nice report!
At the risk of sounding completely thick, I've been trying to figure out for ages what dd and dh stand for and I'm really struggling... and I bet it's something really obvious!
I figured out MS was Mystery Shopping and OH meant Other Half all on my ownbut I'm having trouble with those two!

On Friday dh and I went to do a pub meal shop. Truly the very worst pub meal that I've ever been served in 6 years of living back in the UK.
Rudely ignored at the bar while trying to order - despite 3 staff members carrying on long conversations with the locals. Meal arrived 22 minutes after ordering, despite the fact that we were not allowed to order anything that would take more than 15 minutes to cook. Dh's meal - supposed to be roast chicken - something rubbery and grey the size of chocolate digestive, a handful of peas, 8 chips - literally, and a lukewarm raw "grilled" tomato. It was smaller than the average kids meal. My meal was no better. No check back on the food, so no chance to complain. The server did pass us SIX times to go out and text on his phone, but avoided our eyes. Ugh, if I wasn't being reimbursed then I would have demanded my money back.0 -
You know, I used to be an Assistant Manager of a Restaurant/Pub (when I started it was more of a pub, and when I left it was more of a Restaurant) and I don't miss it AT ALL.
It's so demoralising when you're trying your hardest to provide good customer service whilst the rest of your staff obviously don't give a damn. I used to try and lead by example but it never worked as everyone else thought "Great, Holly does everything so we can just slack and do nothing."
I'm so picky now when I go to Restaurants and Pubs because I know the lengths I'd have gone to to ensure good customer service, and your experience sounds RUBBISH and inexcusable.
Although, now know never to go out for a meal with my Dad as if we ever get bad service when we're out (not that my parents invite me out with them much anymore! As I've fled the nest, I've given up those privaledges!) he always brings it up...
"My daughter was an Assistant Manager of a Restaurant! I think she knows what good service/food is!"
I remember him once having a huge argument with a bar man about being shortchanged on his "not-quite-pint" of beer and I got dragged into that too... For 1cm worth of beer, you'd think you'd let it slide - certainly not worth a 15 minute debate while the rest of your pint goes flat - but not my Dad! Not when he has his trusted Assistant Manager Daughter alongside!TWBM 2010 Wishlist:
