Our thermostat is now set at 16C so the heating doesn't come on until the inside temperature drops to that.

Mine has been off for most of the time for the past few days and I've been putting washing on the line for an extra saving. However I've been told its going to turn colder again this week.

Ours runs all year on thermostat and timer so it 6-8 - 18C 8-16 14C 16-23 18C and 23-06 14C, the house rarley cools to the 14C and we have a combi boiler, we also have separate thermostats on all the raditors which tend to be on 2 or 3 only bathroom is on 4. OH sometimes puts it on the coffee setting, which will increase the temp for a set period. it seems to keep our bill low, we have just had one for 198.00 for 5 months (3 bed semi)

During winter we only put ours on as and when required, which was most nights to be honest! But we've not had it on for nearly a week now. One of the advantages of living in a modern terraced house, it keeps the heat in! So I don't evisage our heating being on until the autumn now! If it gets chilly before then I'll just wrap up in a blanket on the sofa!!
