THIS WAS A TOTAL CON! I tried booking on my iphone becaue it uses a html not flash interface. I was trying to book on saturday night at £29. All I kept getting towards to end of the booking was the server too busy message.
But now I've just checked my email and I have TWO BOOKINGS for the same saturday night at £99 each!! I did not agree to this at all and the email says its totally unrefundable!
Surely this cannot be right? The first screen I accepted the room on was at 29 pounds, it never went up to 99 pounds at any point (besides which I never got to a confirmation of booking point at all). Anybody know my rights about getting a refund?!0 -
I just got a one pound room.
Booked the wrong month
Any other date from now until the end of year would have been fine, but I went and made the mistake for a day that DH has an exam. A very important exam. I could cry right now - I never get lucky EVER?!
Is there any way I can let someone else go instead of me? Like my Mum or something?
Probably - send your Mum along with the card you used to book. Should be ok? Maybe call and ask them?0 -
I went straight for a £29 room and I did get one, still took ages to get in and it crashed upteen times on me. I'm waiting for a confirmation email - I didn't get a screenshot of my confirmation number as I was trying for another day but it all looked normal so fingers crossed I have a room. The other day that I need though is £199 - I might be moving hotels mid-stay?!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Give them a call - I'm sure they will refund you if you explain to them.0 -
Waste of time, I wont bother next time, if they want to offer deals like this they should have the technical stuff sorted, using flash to add yet more delay to the process is just stupid.
If people were able to access just before the countdown (see above from sugarplum) the system is crap. I had my laptop and my PC on the site just before and noticed a time difference of about 5 seconds. So there are system differences that make this an unfair promotion, for that reason I wont be trying again or booking with this hotel EVER.0 -

There's a previous post somewhere from someone who thinks that they will refund if this happens. Good luck.0 -

I would but they are constantly engaged. I guess lots of people fell into their trap. I'm not so optimistic that they'll just refund me! :-(0 -

It happened to me previously, & I emailed reservations@hoxtonhotels.com & got it sorted out, so try that.0 -

Thanks, checked the smal print and it must be me that goes( I could take someone else, but DH has this important exam, i can't abandon him?!
Oh the frustration!
Really sorry to everyone who didn't manage to get one, I only thought I would give it a go after seeing Martin on GMTV this morning....0 -
No joy for me. Not too despondent as the odds were stacked heavily against success! I guess it's boosted their ego...not too sure what else the point of it was as they'll now get a fair amount of negative publicity. No such thing as bad publicity or so the mantra goes!
One thing I would suggest is that they make it fairer for 'new' customers as I'd have thought that this is who they are trying to target. The odds of you succeeding increase if you've used them before as you only then need to put in limited details.0
