Thanks to everyone for their tips. I'm a first time booker and I managed to get a £1 room for our wedding anniversary on 10th March

Did it work for you straight away? Congrats on getting a room!

It's the sheer volume of people doing that. Last time they sold out the £1 rooms in 11 minutes or something like that. I followed a lastminute link to a £1 restaurant meal at Kettner's this morning and at the dot of 10am when it became available they already said it was booked out!
    Reclaimed thanks to this site:

Yeah, have to admit, this seems like a bit of a stunt. I don't mind the whole 'race against time' thing in order to try and get a deal, but considering that they advertised dates between 1 Feb to end of April, it seems ridiculous that when I clicked on at 12pm exactly, there were absolutely no dates available for Feb, so already, it reduces the amount of rooms actually available, surely?
Anyway, whatever, better luck next time!! :)
I had this as I was scrolling through the dates, I clicked back and forward a month and they greyed out ready for booking.

The £1 are gone but I think there are still £29 room available.

I found the system only seems to cope with Internet Explorer, and certainly not Mozilla firefox. On FF it kept coming back to the £1 button to press and then nothing.
tried it on IE and the button now said sold out!

I was there at 12 noon on the dot, was waiting for the countdown to finish....put in all details and then fail to connect.
    DAMMIT!

the system they use should be able to cope. Not impressed.

    That's because it's not 12pm yet! :p

Refresh when the countdown reaches 0 :)

That post was about 1 min after the counter had reached 0 :p
It did go to after about 3 minutes of refreshing.

I managed to get on the booking screen only once but it didn't let me have it, tut.

Anyone managed to get one then?

got as far as booking in page...but every single date shown not available?...every single one?! according to my counter i was on the booking in page withing 15 seconds.. how can every single date in all the months be booked?
dont think ill be bothering with this one again. :-(

It did that to me but then they all magically appeared after a few seconds delay. Picked the date I wanted, went to the checkout, and it failed to submit lol. Closest I've been yet.
  • Mine says this: CONNECTION STATUS: Unable to load settings
