Refreshed the page at 12.00, by 12.02 I had my confirmation email and at 12.03 I phoned my Mum to tell her the good news! I was so excited. It was a real adrenalin rush watching the timer go down. And I know it's utterly embarrassing I found it so exciting. But that's me, with a £1 room at a posh hotel the night before an interview I've got in London. Suits me much better than a hostel, and the SO is going to come down with me for a night somewhere nice too. We've never been to anywhere with a * rating, money being what it is.
I'm sorry to everyone that was disappointed. I did it on the Safari browser and had zero problem whatsoever. I even had to take a few extra seconds, as I'd not clicked to select a room type, and then I'd not entered a country in the address box. Still, a massive success and I can't wait! :j0 -
Hi,
I got a Friday night in April for £1. Went straight for the date, filled in all my details as quickly as I could (having practised on their page earlier in the morning!) although I did have my debit card no. dsaved in cut and paste memory, and had an email to confirm within 5 mins! I realise I was very lucky, I had Firefox open as well as IE and IE did seem to be ever so slightly faster to load after I refreshed once the countdown clock had hit zero.
It's really a bit of fun and although easy for me to say as I did get a room, I don't think it's worth getting so cross about, as some people seem to be!

Well done to everyone who managed to get one
I logged on at midday but kept getting a black screen, then the redirect message then the home page again each time I refreshed. Gave up after a few mins, might have got one if I'd have hung in there but I'm still recovering from the boots all nighter so really couldn't be dealing with another website crash
*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*No new toiletries challenge - use up the stash first!NSD Jan 2/150 -
It happened to me previously, & I emailed reservations@hoxtonhotels.com & got it sorted out, so try that.
Thanks for advice, I have just got an email back saying they have cancelled the double bookings @ £99.
I won't be in a hurry to take part in their special offers again.0 -

BUT rang hubby at work to tell him and he said he'd booked a nice place in Oxford for 2 nights as a surprise but - being the skinflint he is he would prefer to go to the £1 one and go another time to Oxford! (he was paying for 2 nights with Tesco vouchers!)
I tried for day after - got through on £29 room but when got to end it would not process order!gutted!
Just an idea - anyone want to swap ? - i booked 14th march but need 15th (see above post) i called the hotel name can be changed - pm me as i think we would need booking no's to do thisGrowing old is manditory, Growing up is optional! :j0 -

Seems like 14th March is a popular birthday!!
Sorry need to do as a swap really so i can add on to OH's booking or I won't be going anywhere for mine!!Growing old is manditory, Growing up is optional! :j0 -
I managed to bag one of the five £29 rooms on Valentines Day of all dates!
Yeah all £1 rooms unavailable when I looked so went straight to £29 and typed fast.
Also got 2 nights central London with the gf in the Travelodge sale a few weeks ago - worked out as £7 a night each.
So each paying £28.50 total for: two nights in London PLUS this top hotel on Valentines Day, feel very very lucky, especially as students!0 -
Update
I managed to get a few more days off work so now we are going to Oxford fri/sat night (Tesco deals) and then down to London for the sunday night total cost £1.00 - When I asked hubby if I will be getting a pressie he said "I'm doing the driving aren't I!!" - is this the cheapest 50th birthday??? Thats what you get for being a dedicated money saver I suppose!Growing old is manditory, Growing up is optional! :j0 -
for a super bargain dont forget to book train tickets now. Mine cost £3 rather than the usual £20!0
