  • Catspaw - hugs - what a worry....

You have made all this really clear to the landlord once so another clear conversation might be in order now.

Just a thought, rather than trying to rip you off is it standard to get a month's rent in advance, even though you're moving in part way through the month? Maybe he'll be sympathetic when he understands how the money works for you?

And just a thought, some councils will help with deposit/key money as it keeps you off their books, is it worth finding out about yours? CAB might be helpful here - worth a quick visit / phonecall maybe?

Try not to worry - easier said than done I know.
    More hugs

    :j I have a moving date:j

I kicked up such a fuss with the agent about the date being convenient for him not me or the landlord that he agreed, so I should get the contract tmw or friday. My forms for change of address are in at the council today, all they need now is the contract, so I move on 3rd April.

Its a little flat but very nice, both DD's have agreed to share the large bedroom and the livingroom/kitch is very big. Pain that they have to share but it will do for the next year at least........and.......becuase it is above the deli and the landlord owns the deli I get a 10% discount:D

Not much news on anything else apart really:
I have 3 broken ribs from TKD( i go to 2 different clubs) so when I went for my pre grading yesterday I explained to the instructor and then he decied to fail me and pick on DD2.....now I think that being tokld I am totally incompetant and can't even master the basic moves( and should grade until next year) was a tad annoying for me, but when all the other kids were asked 3 questions, DD2 was asked 8.....and above her grade......her then proceeded to yell at her in front of everyone.

Me thinks I might be changing clubs.

Still awaiting details on the HSNC bank account
my account is still in credit
Am cutting food bill slowly, by vigerous planning and bargin hunting and not uying anything extra.
Petrol is my main cost, as I am now doing a lot of driving and petrol has gone up it is getting quite painful moneywise.
Proud to be dealing with my debt:eek:

TOTAL: £6,437 (04/01/2013) slowly but surely it is decreasing:D

Mind you I did manage a NSD yesterday.
Not so today as it is shopping day, but my challenge is to see how low I can get the bill, and I have to go see a client which is petrol.

Ribs are very sore, and driving is a pain but hey ho its got to be done.

I need to chase my agent/landlor as the council need the rent agreement to change the address/payments, so thats me off to town first thing.

Have too make a list of things i need when I move and a list of places where I need to change the address.
Also need to chase the bank again: they made a mistake on the proof of ID so that is first on my list aafter dropping DD's off.

Am looking forward to moving as they will walk to school unless it is tipping down.

As soon as I have moved I will bring some spreadsheets inton play ( have finally found one I can use) to keep an eye on the finiances.
Would love to take the DD's to Harry Potter world in orlando next summer but I think it will work out at nearly £4K and I refuse to use cards/loan.

Need to do some serious sums here folks.
Proud to be dealing with my debt:eek:

  • Catspaw - ouch your poor ribs!

Hooray for moving day. Is this the 2 bedroom flat you were looking at before, or another one? Does this mean it will work out better for the housing benefit?

Hope you got all your bits and pieces done.

aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh what happened to my reply:mad::mad:

CBM: the flat is a nice 2 bed above the deli, big living room come kitchen and will be paid for by the council without any problems, I have already handed the forms in. Got to admit I was getting worried about not having the contract.
All I have to do now is nag the council so that they sort out the rent increase on time so that I can move in........please please let them.

HSBC are still being a pain with the new accouht, they have been provided with the proof of ID twice as well as my company details and they still haven't processed it, this is not boding well for the future.

Have made my list of everyone that I need to tell for change of address now all I need to do now is work out what I need to buy...and honestly....not a lot....I am taking the sofa from here ( came from freecycle when we moved in) so all I really need is a TV and curtains.

    Not too bad I think.

Am thinking of extra ways to get money in: I don't have anything to ebay as I don't actually own much.
Did my infrequent mystry shop on Friday so should get £10 for that soon and am going to do all the agency for temp work, although I am enjoying the own business thing it isn't profitable.....honestly....there is no money at all as I am spending it on Jobsites to advertise when I could be temping, bringing the money in, having a life and paying my debts.

Think it might be time to make a decision.

hope the bank get their act together pretty sharpish. I started off thinking Halifax were muppets when it took an age to get accepted for their account but since i've started getting the £5 rewards i've almost forgiven them. To be honest i'm not using them as a proper current account as such, i'm just 'fleecing' them for the fiver.

:rotfl::rotfl:oh that one we like LT.
Was with Halifax many many moons ago but couldn't use their card to take money out abroad so stopped using them, and there isn't one anywhere near here.

Have been having a major clear out today in prep for the move and a sort out of paper work again, also a trying to plan the budget for the next month.....this will be my first real month of dealing with everything myself.

Over all this last year since leaving EX-OH hasn't been too bad.
I am just about stable financially, and definatley mentally, not having to worry all day that he would be having a row with DD's after picking them up and then with me.

I now know when all the bills are due out and as soon as I have this new bank account things will hopefully be totally sorted:D I know I know, famous last words:D

Hi LT: mother's day was pretty good, I had a 20 mile race and when I got back DD's had run me a hot bath and cooked lunch....and a huge box of chocolates so all in all pretty good.

Not going to be very MSE this week as DD2 will be 10 on Wed and need to do a little bit of shopping: she has asked 3 friends round for a dvd and pop corn night ( and probably a McDo's:o) oh what a bad mother I am:D

  • I take my hat off to you - just one year since leaving ex-OH?! You and the girls sound so together and that things are really moving with new flat and so on. My ex-OH left us, and it took me a lot longer to sort things out, although like you I was so glad to be rid of the rows and toady times and the feeling of freedom to enjoy the children and enjoy doing things with them (cue - lots of really messy, noisy activities!)

Here's to new flat, new start!

Your mother's day sounds fab - what lovely daughters you've got. I'm not so sure about a 20mile race (I don't think I could even walk that at the moment!)
