Ok, have found somewhere:j the BIG place I wanted the tennent is being a right pain and I couldn't risk being homeless with the 2 DD's, so I saw a flat last night, DD's would be back sharing a room but they an have the big one, the living/kitchen is HUGE and has eves and real character and in the centre of town so they can both walk to school thus saving money on petrol:D

Am currently aminal sitting for a freinds kids. They have gone to new york for half term ( well her husband can afford it on his wage......mind you judging by some of the stories on here maybe not:D) and I have 2 hamsters and 2 gunea pigs ( and my cat is going mental wanting to play with them)
Proud to be dealing with my debt:eek:

TOTAL: £6,437 (04/01/2013) slowly but surely it is decreasing:D
  • Hiya! didn't want to read and run - but when OH and I first rented a flat we got 2 sofas off eBay for £30! They were lovely - orange and gorgeous. When we moved on we gave them to a friend for his new pad. At that price, we didn't mind at all! x
*paid off 19.3% of debt, as of 8/3/2010*

good luck with the animal sitting, even though my cats are used to the piggies and rabbit (who live outside) they still sit and watch them fascinated when they are in their run outside in summer.
  • A possible flat :j sounds like its positioned well. Is it pet friendly?
You're lucky that your DD will contemplate sharing - my boys were horrible in the same room, but they were quite a bit smaller and I think they grow to be more tolerant, theoretically at least!
We got our previous dishwasher from ebay for a fiver - had to pick it up from about 20 miles away but it was just before christmas and we said if it lasted until Jan we'd have got our money's worth. It lasted for about 18 months! Its worth a look on there for things that you need, particularly if you're able to go and fetch them.

    Cheers

Thanks guys, I had completely forgotten about Ebay:rotfl: mind you have never used it, will take a moosey on over and see what is around, and maybe pick up one of those free ads things.

Flat is pet friendly , but saggy old baggy old cat doesn't go out much< think it comes from being recycled, he doesn't go far in case we run off and leave him:(

  • Yay for mothers! Sounds like you're well on your way.
Any news on the flat - I wasn't quite sure if you've got it for sure or not. Does it have beds/cooker/fridge etc or have you got those?

    Cheers

CBM : it seems to have all the kitchen stuff and I have beds, only need a sofa. How is your son doing? did he manage not to spend his grant?
Am dreading the day my DD's go, I know (hope) they will mannage not to drop themselves too far in it.

The agent has emailed me all the forms, so I will look over those tonight.

Barclays are also being a right royal pain in the a**e:because the joint bills account went over drawn about 2 weeks ago (it is back in credit and my house mate now has it, my name is off the account) they have decided to close MY account:mad::mad::mad: even though
it is in credit and has been since July last year:mad::mad: I have until March 1st......BUT...... they are saying I am no longer allowed to make withdrawls:eek::eek: so I withdrew evrything I had today and will try to withdraw the tax credits when the go in tmw and then spend tmw trying to get another account

Thansk to my mum I had a weekend of NSD's.

Went for a long run today with one of my running partners: the one I usually end up getting lost with.....and we got lost:rotfl:as per usual

thank heavens for mum's who come through when you need them, but booooooo to horrible house mates who mess things up for you. The sooner you're out of there the better.
  • That's really rubbish of the banks to close your account. I hope you manage to get your money out. Reminds me of another thread I read - something like '17p and 3 nappies' where a bank closed an account leaving a mum with just that. Really bad. As LT says the sooner you're out of there the better.
Have you decided to take the flat mow? Exciting times?

You might find an odd sofa advertised on a board in a supermarket, or at work? Which would do temporarily! Do your DDs have sleepovers? If so I wouldn't buy any brand new lounge furniture until they've left home

DS is ok, thanks. He phoned yesterday for a recipe, bless him (not pancakes) and said could we skype later. I had OH's laptop in the lounge turned on but no call. I wonder what he's done/bought/caught....!

    Cheers
