Text Message con....DO NOT REPLY

I have just received the following text message;

You are being contacted by our dating service by someone you know! To find out who it is, call from a landline
090 5000 1139 Po box 45W2TG150P (wonder what that will net them in premium rates)

Obviously have no intention of ringing it. Perhaps coincidental, have never received anything like this before but yesterday tried to download a ringtone.
:D :D

    Yep I've had a couple of these texts, they didn't make sense to me as I have never joined a dating service so why would I be contacted? :-/ Never replied and luckily haven't been hassled further!

  • The texts are sent out to random numbers in the hope of getting "a hit" i.e. a reply.

    If you do reply it will cost you £2.50 per minute from a BT landline (more if you phone from a mobile), and of course your call will last several minutes.

    Easy money for the scammers.
