I paid £600 lastyear for a 26" wharfdale LCD TV ..within a few days it was full of fault with loads of vibrations from the casing. Also quality was very poor for a LCD TV. Got me money back and paid £11 extra and got a 26" samsung ...much better quality and worth the effort.0

Some people in china bought the right to use the Wharfedale name and hence why we have cheap Wharfedale products which (in my opinion) don't live up to the brand name that was Wharfedale.
This happens a lot. In fact I believe the Loudspeaker division is still going, but at some point the name has been licenced/sold to others for use on cheapy manufactured goods in other markets. Exactly the same thing that happened to Grundig and Ferguson most recently, and even Goodmans (once well respected manufacturer of loudspeakers and Hi-Fi I think) and way back, Bush (I think they were respected, but it's that long ago I can't remember what for!).
It's a shame companies like DSG (in the case of Ferguson) buy the rights to use these brands and start slapping their logos on cheaply manufactured goods with "RESPECTED BRAND" "TOP NAME" and "EXCLUSIVE" written all over them, to fool the public into buying the quality items
To return to the subject though, the Wharfdale TV will be a cheap import and it's lucky dip as to if it will be any good. I find the quality of the far-eastern imports vary wildly from desperately poor to excellent, often with no real reflection in the price charged. The problem with argos is it's quite impossible to get a decent demo of a TV. The only thing you could possibly do it try it and take it back on quality issues if it is really bad, but you might have an argument on your hands.0 -
I have got one of these Tvs and i have got my Laptop plugged into it. What i want to know is when i plug my laptop into it i put a 3.5mm jack from my laptop to the underneath 3.5mm jack slot underneath the TV. But there is one on the side as well when i put it in that i get no sound, i have tried going through all the Avs and still dont. Is there a fault with my TV or am i doing something wrong.?0

Often on TV's you will need to go into the set up menu and set the volume level for the headphones/output jack concened. It is possible the volume is either set at mute or at zero.
I do not know this particular TV, but go through your set up menu to check. Good luck,0 -
I am also having the problem with the speakers sound like they are vibrating and also i sometimes cant get into the 4 main menus (sound, picture, feature, install) from the remote or from the button on the tv also sometime when i press the volume key the volume bar does not show up on the tv. Anyone else had any of these problems. Also i got it from argos 5 months back will i be able to contact wharfedale for a refund or a replacement at worst.?0

Went to an Argos Clearance store yesterday and they had loads of these, LCD 2610AF 26" LCD TVs, reduced from £599.99 to £359.99. Are these a) a good bargain, and b) any good as a make!!?? Tried surfing but can't see very much on these at all...
Not when you could get one of these - no!
