Unbundled is really for institutional traders and other very high volume traders, as you will get discounts if your share volume is in the 10's of millions, or you're turning over 1000's of futures contracts per month.
AFAIK bundled is the most useful for retail traders, cost is $0.005 per share if trading US stocks and ETF's, cost for UK is £6 up to £50k value of shares.
Bundled or Unbundled makes no difference to how quickly it "goes through" it is a direct access platform, you either route your orders manually to whichever exchange or ECN you want, or auto route and let their software match the order.
Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!

Thanks again, some useful info there, if you have traded US shares with IB before have they actually charged an exchange fee on top if you autoroute the trade?

No, if you are using the bundled option, and auto routing your trades, exchange and regulatory fees are included in the $0.005 per share fee

I've sold my existing HB shares and will start again somewhere else; have made a tidy sum and the shares have since dropped so back in I go :D

Just one question for those that have sold through HB, how long did settlement take, they state 3 working days but am still waiting (on the 3rd day!). I've emailed them and intend calling in the morning...but just in case anyone knows in the meantime?
  • As I remember, settlement with HB was fast - next working day or thereabouts?
But they seem to be busier now...

Just called iii (Interactive Investor) and they advised that they have definately no inactivity charge. Just thought I'd out it on to save anyone else having to make the 0845 number call ;-)

Is the total charge for share centre 2.50 a month regardless of how much you use it?
