    I've used all the free AV's and many of the commercial solutions. Personally I've found Eset NOD32 (well more the whole Smart Security Suite) worth every penny and overall better value/efficacy than the freeware alternatives.

    I used to use AVG but found it slowed up my pc when I updated to the new version. Now using avast as recommend by the folks here, works fine for me and not had any problems
