Can Anyone Recommend A Good AntiVirus Programme?

Picking the best anti virus is like picking the best car, it'll probably change every year.
What you should do is select one that has permanently been at or around the top of the list.
As a free solution I'd go for AntiVir from Avira, the official site is Avira.com0 -
That stupid ad thing put's me off Avira (I can imagin them force 'upgrading' it so you can't remove the ad), the lack of script detection put's me off Avast and AVG has slightly better def's then Avast but no heuristics and it's buggy.0

The ads can be disabled, but that hasn't convinced me to ditch my current setup. That stupid ad thing put's me off Avira
It's nice to finally 'meet' someone who shares my opinion of it. :wave:0 -
Norton Internet security at tesco for £25 very cheap
http://direct.tesco.com/search/default.aspx?search=norton&confirm.x=53&confirm.y=7Spending my time reading how to fix PC's,instead of looking at Facebook.0 -

AVG does have heuristics and it's not buggy.

disabling the popup ad is easy, just adjust the properties for avnotify.exe0

Yeah I know but Avira will soon cotton on to this...0 -
I have used AVG for years and use AVG on all my family PCs.
Norton is overpriced (ie more than free) and is generally considered a bloated resource hog.0 -
I've used all the free AV's and many of the commercial solutions. Personally I've found Eset NOD32 (well more the whole Smart Security Suite) worth every penny and overall better value/efficacy than the freeware alternatives."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
