SAR letter sent but no answer

Options
Hi, me again!
Sent my SAR letters on the 5th last month - received on the 6th (checked if they've been delivered) but still nothing. I read some people say they get acknowledged leters that someone will be dealing with their request, so was wondering do i wait 40 working days from the letters been received by the banks and what will happen if i don't get my file:confused:
Thanks a lot for your help!

If this is near on 40 days then you are free to inform the ICO after the 40th day of this and I would also write to them telling them this. This might prompt a reply sooner.

DId you send them a cheque or postal order and has it been cashed?

    Thank you, marshallka!
Just not sure if the 40 days are 40 working days only or 40 days since the date letters received. If is 40 working days it's the 30th day today, but it is 40 days they're gone and no files received.
I sent cheques but they haven't been cashed yet.

As far as I am aware but i would perhaps write again if it were me on the 40 straight days day and say I am taking this to the ICO.

Thank you, i have sent the letters signed for, but not special delivery. Can they say they didn't get them, although i have receipts and on the royalmail site it says they have been delivered.
And should i just inform them i have contacted the ICO or write to them and wait for a week before contacting the ICO?
    Thanks for being so helpful.

I would just put if it were me that I am not happy with the time its taking and they have not responded within the given 40 days and I shall now have to contact the ICO to make a complaint. I would then wait for a further few days (but perhaps get the complaint form ready) and then see what happens. Also you can make a complaint online to the ICO i think if I remember rightly.

Hi, so i got a packet today from Barclays with what was supposed to be the sar request. Am i wrong in thinking they should've send me more than just printed paper with references to memos, credit behaviour and current credit limits at different times:confused:

The banks are really playing now. For anyone requesting information please list the following documents required. A Copy of the agreement, Terms and Conditions, All Correspondence, Transaction History (statements) and information regarding any commissions received or paid while dealing with your business.
I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.

However, I have since seen the light.

In the letter i sent the request was clear (copied it from the sticky Sar)

    1. Full copies of all contracts which you believe exist or have existed between myself and your organisation, including true copies of any documents you hold in support of the same.
    2. A complete list of all transactions or statements relating to ALL of my Loan Accounts with your organisation.
    3. Copies of all documents which include any of my personal information including copies of any contacts or invoices, emails or computer records containing my personal information, or any records which pertain to this information.
    4. Full copies or transcripts of any correspondence in postal, email or any other format which you have entered into with any individual, organization or third party which contains my personal or financial, or which pertains to me.
    5. Where any previous information or records held have been deleted or disposed of, the methods used to do so, including dates, certificates or references confirming details of destruction. Where you are unable to provide such certificates, please provide a declaration, signed by an authorised officer of your company, confirming the dates and methods of destruction of this data.
    6. Full hard copy print outs of my personal or financial information, held in a digital, magnetic or any other format which is held in any archives, backups or other storage devices / locations.
    7. Underwriting sheet or other such document recording any commission (or other) payment made to an intermediary or packager, and/or payment/commission from the insurer in relation to my account.
So should i call them now or send a letter ? How much time should i give them to provide me with everything i asked for? 7 days?
Thank you all for the help!
Also forgot to mention they haven't cash the cheque i sent, do i have to send them another one?

    Hi there

Tell them you believe you have not received "everything" requested as on the SAR, and you wish for them to send these for as soon as possible.

    Yes 7 days is good.;)
Also tell them if they are unable to supply everything then you want a written explanation, and obviously any problem and you receive nothing I would contact the Information Commissioners office (ICO) and ask them for help in this matter, good luck.
