A few months ago. I visited the offices of a client we are running a campaign for. I strolled through the Call Centre and listened in on a few calls to get an insight into what customers are saying about the products and services offered by our client.
I was shocked at the abuse and venom directed at some of the staff.
People who think its ok to talk down/abuse service staff make me sick. One particular call really stuck in my mind, the caller was rude, abusive and foul mouthed, he made threats of violence and behaved like an animal towards a young girl who had simply advised him his account was in arrears due to a failed DD.
If I worked in one of these places I would have been sacked ages ago for telling someone to F*** off, or if face to face punching them in the face.
Some people are just downright rude because they are small and insignificant and feel empowered being rude to people who cant fight back.Official SOS Club number 011 - Dry until 17/11/20090 -
Ive worked in a call centre before too, The amount of sh*t you get from people is sickening, 97% of the problems are caused by the caller themselves. I just used to p*ss them off further by adding "Have a nice day" To the end of the conversation
Made me feel great.

Customer says:- NO I'M NOT STUPID!
Seems perfectly reasonable to me.
Shocking. There is nothing resonable about being agressive. What's wrong with replacing "NO I'M NOT STUPID!" with "no thank you"0 -
It depends how you say "No I am not stupid":D0

Well not from my store anyway! We get it all the time - I had another bloke the other day buying fags. Ask him for ID - he says he's 20 but doesn't have any. I say sorry but no. He then points at his car - I work in a service station - and informs me he's driving the chavmobile. I remind him he only has to be 17 to drive (that's if he has a license). And then he declares 'you have to be 18 to drive a 2litre'. I wish someone informed me of all these laws :rolleyes:0 -
I've had all the answers under the sun regarding the question "would you like a bag?"
Worst was having to refuse a kid (no older than 17)lighter fluid, as a) he and his mate were as high as a kite, and b) he had no ID on him anyway. They stood there arguing with me for a while (giving me three different reasons why they didn't have ID on them) before giving up. And if they hadn't, I'd have chucked them out and got the manager to ban them."Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."
