Like a bad penny I turn up again! Still on the weight loss road but a bit further down it! Good to see loads of names I remember (well it seems like ages). Feeling really tired at the mo and trying to sum up the energy to go to a pilates class. Never been before but the physio has said it will be good for my back (it's been 'going' for months now). I need either a nap, a cup of coffee or a good kick up the bum.
I'll try to catch up on the posts but until then see ya later.I would if I could but I can't so I won't!0 -
Welcome Dinah! Looks like you've got things well under control, 5lb in 4 weeks is excellent! Can't see it being a problem that you go 'over' when you're socialising with friends, if you're mostly 'under' the rest of the time
Can I just saw wow at all your other challenges in your sig too... you must be ultra organised!!!
Hey Tagz! Good to see you on here again! Let us know how it goes with the PilatesAre you still doing your running?

Now I said I'd been eating rather well on holiday (or should that be NOT well?) and I've gained 7.25lbs. Off to sit on the naughty step and reconsider my foolishness. That isn't for the chart Fred, I'm hoping to be like Sary and lose a bit before my official WI whihc will be Wednesday morning.:o
I got one of those things that measure how many calories you use so that I could have a better ides of what I was burning off as I walked up and down the hills. Clearly not enough!
Fred - would you like to send me back the chart after you've posted this week's? I'm very happy to take it back.Thank you so much for doing it. :beer:0 -
+3lbs for me. Not surprising with it being my DS birthday, he had a shop bought cake and a home made one
2nd week of holidays was spent decorating my mum's new sheltered housing flat, so lived on takeaways for the week Finally got her moved in this evening tho. Will spend the rest of this week unpacking the rest of her stuff.
Back to work tomorrow so am hoping he has a nice duty for me to get some exercise.
4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -

Can't quite believe it but I went! It was great. Challenging def but my back felt brilliant afterwards. I haven't run for over three months now. My back kept 'going' and when I started seeing a physio she told me to cut out all exercise apart from the ones she gave me and then only when she said I could start building it up again. I've just started exercising again but by some miracle I've managed to lose weight. I even managed to put on only one pound whilst in Malta for two weeks. And I wasn't an angel! Hope you are all doing well.

Morning everyone
I think my friends problem can mostly be summed up as I love to make desserts and they love to eat them. All my family and friends are trying to pursuade me to open a bakery or mail order dessert company or something, I rarely make them just for us because we'd all be little barrels, but if we have people over I can't resist the excuse to trial one out (new this week, chocolate fondant mousse with a ginger crumb crust... not good for the figure but yummy!)
My OH made us carrot and orange soup last night, so have that with a bit of wholemeal baguette for lunch, and some pineapple for afters. Had a fat free activia yogurt for breakfast so its only dinner left to trip me up today.
What are the 'rules' of this thread? Is there a weigh in day or is it more ad-hoc?
Yes, I'm scary organised according to my OH. Everything has a place, and that place is labelled. I have spreadsheets for everything, and a total of 18 savings and current accounts to manage our money. However my weight has always been the thing I've struggled to control for a sustained period of time. However the website I use to track my food gives me lots of graphs and that really helps me!
Glad you enjoyed the pilates Tagz, its great for toning and strengthening the muscles. I used to do it 3 times a week, but the class is on at 7.30 on an evening, and in the end not getting home until 9.15pm was tiring me out too much and taking up too much of my week, but I do miss it.
Does anyone exercise at home? I need to get some drive to do that, as we are giving up the gym membership to save money in 5 months, and the local pool AND ice-rink has just closed for 18months for refurbishment so we're a bit stuffed for an afterwork fix once we quit the gym.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I do. We have an exercise bike and some free weights at home.
When my knee is feeling a bit iffy (as is the case now) I just climb on to the bike and pedal away for an hour. Usually stick on a movie or catch up with the sky +. Last night, got a book out and read that :rotfl:
Afterwards I tend do some weight work. 100 boxing style punches and then 100 over head punches. Sometimes throw in some press ups and then some core strength work. The plank is a good one. Bit uncomfortable though.
My knee is sore at the minute. Dunno what's up with it so I fear it may screw with my weigh in . I'll try boxing later, may have to miss out on some of the exercises but I'm sure I'll do more pressups and sit up instead :rotfl:0 -
I time my visits to the gym with when Come Dine with Me or The Simpsons are on, if I don't have a distraction I get bored far too quickly. I wish we had space for a bike or a cross trainer at home, but we live with my parents. Still, my brother goes to uni soon, his room would look great with a bike in the corner...Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

no weigh in this week as last few days of my diet holiday. Back to weigh in next week (with a gain me thinks) got a meal planned on the 23rd and another wedding pending in Nov so need to lose some more weigh by then...0

I don't eat any pre-packeted food so those wouldn't be much use to me, it's the loving to cook that is my downfall as I think of or see these recipies that I just can't wait to try out! Not going to be entertaining for a while now though so hopefully will get back on the straight and narrow. Going to Italy in the first week of October so would like to be over the halfway hump by then.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
