Can you simply tell me why you went to the clinic in plain english ? It just seems you are very 'cloak and dagger' about all this. Was it to see a physio ? Was it to teach aerobics ? Was it to do yoga ?0

Difficult line - brings to mind the army Major who had his legs blown off but walked the London Marthon - now would they say because he can walk 26miles he shouldnt get DLA (which is sooooo wrong in my humble).
Why would they say that ? It took him 13 days walking 2 miles a day through great pain.A brave man who lost both his legs is a totally different scenario to someone who sounds like they go a clinic with what could be an alleged minor disability.0 -

when I look at the answers to my query I think I might have!!:rotfl:0 -
finally I say good bye to you lot! the clinice was an acupuncture clinic - the class following was chi-gong given to people attending the clinic and the officer in the bureau has no riight to ring the clinic to tell the authorities I am there!
By the way - I am not in receipt of any benefits yet - I was written off ill by my doctor for 3 months until I can be scanned by the hospital (in August), have tried for 2 weeks to get in touch with the DWP if the application has been approved (cannot get through); had to apply for emergency funds in the meantime and am really not amused by some of the uncanning and unfunny comments made.
what kind of people are you?0 -

Nobody really knows what you're talking about though.:idea:0 -
Right - you say that you are not actually being paid any benefits - you have been trying to get in touch with the DWP for the last 2 weeks to find out about payments.
I can tell you that if you have not been claiming long enough for benefit to be paid that the fraud department will definately NOT be following you. It takes more than a couple of weeks to get a case, decide what course of action to take, and then apply for surveillance.
I do not know of any fraud investigator who would be prepared to, or be able to, respond to a phone call from a clinic and be there immediately. Applications for surveillance are only authorised for immediate action in exceptional circumstances and I really dont think that you attending a clinic would be classed as execptional.
I tend to agree with the other posters - you are obviously expecting the DWP to watch you - WHY ???0 -
This is one of the most pointless but none-the-less funny threads here! I am with others who say if you are thinking people are following you regarding your diabilities BEFORE you have claimed any benefits.......what on earth are you up to that would make you so paranoid??? Was this an injury that you have hired some ambulance chaser to get compensation for you and you think you might not get it??Debt free = December 2010...as of March 2006 it is now January 2010..... as of December 2008 it is now December 2009 :j hopefully sooner!!:jDEBT FREE:j January 2012, took longer but I got there, all by myself, through sheer hard work and pride!0

If I have proof that a member of staff in the clinic has contacted authorities and informed them about my presence in the treatment room, which is public, does this in your opinion constitute a gross breach of privacy law and human rights or not?'
Actually I tend to agree with the OP ... if I have it right .... she is saying that someone is phoning the authorities to tell them that she has arrived or has an appointment at a certain time .. whether that is actually happening I have no idea ... and as to what her prove is ... again I have no clue ..
BUT ... would any of you be happy if you turned up for a private appointment, followed by a gym session & someone was waiting for you .... isn't that an invasion of privacy ... the appointment is not with the NHS ... so would they not need some form of court order to get this info???
