  • thanks lolly_896,
I need a cloth, without joins as I am really fussy(OH says more awkward) which measures 192" x 62".I didn,t think it would be so difficult but now I realise why the venue doesn,t already have tablecloths.

Wow,its been a while since I have been on here.I have done no wedding stuff for the last 2 months apart from the first meeting with the celebrant.64 days to go and still loads to do!
I have to look out my paperwork and deposit/payment info as its all in different place about the house despite having a perfectly nice wedding folder.Must sit down with OH this week and go through it all,see what payment we still have to make etc.
He doesnt even have an outfit yet!DD has outgrown her dress wich I bough last year in the sale, age 9 asI did buy it too big at the time, dress but she is so tall that even though she isnt 8 yet its already too small.
Still to find shoes for myself.Just going to get pumps dyed to match dress to save some cash there.
Tableclcoths,I was being too fussy and I dont think I would find the time to make opne anyway.Just going to use 2 and hope no-one notices the join. There will be so much stuff on the table anyway I doubt much of the cloth will be visible at all.
Was going to buy those gorgeous new purple glass wine goblets from M&S but they have sold out already.Using the venues glassware will save me cash anyway.
    So much to do!PANIC!!!

    Hi Tiger,
All the final bits are a nightmare especially all the cash that goes out at the same time.We had great intentions re saving and have a seperate account etc BUT OH has dipped into it for bills and B&Q so the credit card is going to have to come out at some point soon.Need to make up a few cash envelopes for final payments on the day too.

I guess its all together really just feel disorganised, suppose its a bit of panic for no real reason.

The final details of the day are coming together.I bought a single eco lantern to try out but we have had rain constantly so not been able to try it yet.I think I will just order the bigger pack anyway so we have them in time.
Still to find indoor sparklers and decide if I am going to buy any extra bits for the table or if flowers are enough.
Been thinking about church candles to decorate but with 2 big dogs running about the venue wondering if naked flames are sensible.Poundland has some nice ivory candle at the moment and for pure white ones theres always IKEA.

  • Wedding dress fitting is on Friday so I am trying desperately to shift another inch off my waist by then.A diet of soup and herbal teas this week and I started taking Adios kelp tablets too.Exercising like mad and crossing fingers I fit into my dress on Friday.
Bought my wedding shoes yesterday,a pair of dark purple pumps,£22 from Barratts.OH is not impressed that I am wearing flatties but I dont want to break my ankle on the spiral staircase and I want to be comfy enough to jump about and dance.I tried a small kitten heel shoe but didnt even feel safe on that.
Ordered my bridal undies today,a gok wan corset and panties from simple be(purple of course),hope they get here in time for the fitting on Friday.

  • Went to buy our rings which we picked from last seasons argos catalogue,£108 for both rings.Prices have gone up quite drasticaly and its now £150 for both.Need to change my budget sheet again.Costs just keep going up.

Just a few things still to do now with about 10 days until the big day.

1/We have to decide on the exact ceremony content .getting there, nearly done.Still not done yet!!!

and buy a quaich for the loving cup part of the ceremony.ordered one but it had a logo engraved which we thought was a watermark on the photo so thats to be returned and another ordered.Done and recieved, its perfect.

2/Final decision to be made on my pieces for the string quartet.I have chosen canon for entrance AND exit music as I love the piece so much.Quartet can choose the rest themselves

3/buy white linen and white church candles.bought plain white good quality coton tablecloths from a trade place,"blue jigsaw" and napkins.cost just under £40 ,a bargain!Purple candles and little glass candle dishes from tesco, also very cheap indeed.

4/make up cash envelopes for the wedding day for housekeeper, other musician(2nd night),waitresses.

5/buy gifts for guests(OH will do that as it was his idea)

6/order some special wines and a rare whisky to be delivered to the castle, double up tesco clubcard vouchers for some wine

7/buy sparklers found cocktail sparklers on ebay for £1.45 for 10,bought 20 to put in desserts

8/book hair and make-up trial and reserve services for the day. found a mobile hairdresser and make-up lady, really cheap too.£60 for my hair including trial,£20 for everyone else,£15 each for make-up and have booked trial for that too.

9/make sure everyone else has their outfits sorted

10/need to find another 2 silver platters for under the white plates.I have 10 I use at xmas but need 12 for the wedding.

  • Aww honey it is all coming together. I have been a bit stressed this week trying to work what there is still to buy and pay!! • Thanks Tigerlilly. You sound well organised, getting the registrar paid nice and early.I just got my e-mail today from the registars office telling me the banns(if thats what they are called in scotland) had been posted in public today.Getting excited and scared as it gets closer and more real.I am just sitting here getting my remaining final payment envelopes ready and the cash on the day ones written out too.Dress fitting is tomorrow and my mum will be with me,its the first time she will have seen my dress, its the first time I will have seen my dress,so excited!
Did you notice how much the sparklers cost in tesco.I cant see them in my local ones yet.It is the little mini indoor ones I want, thinking of having them lit on the desserts when they are brought in.
