    Hi there!

I had a look at the work of both photographers and both are really good but the Justin photography is more modern and more expensive looking...almost like its got a twist, where as the other photographer goes for the more traditional pics! I think no matter who you choose you won't be disappointed with them. I spent ages going through all the photos seeing if I saw anywhere local (I'm from Inverness) lol

Good luck with your wedding and best wishes xx

We decided on the cheaper photograher last night then I looked at their websites again and just love justins photos.I know I would never regret going for the expensive option. The others are good too but not the same style.I could edit them myself though as we will have the images on disc.
My OH really wants to go for the cheaper ones and I absolutely see the logic.I look at the sandy fee photos and think nice, really nice infact, but I look at justins and just sit and smile and enjoy them.Oh I dont know.I have one week to decide then we have to send a deposit to one of them.

Thats exactly how I would feel too, the Justin ones, there is something 'extra' with it while the Sandy ones are brill but not got the wee bit extra....thats what you need to decide, is that 'extra' worth the money, it is alot isn't it?

Has Sandy got a studio you could see some wedding pics rather that online???

Sounds like you've got everything under control. :)

    As for the photographer dilemna, it's a tough one! I know that the photos are really important to look back on, but so many people have cameras these days and will take plenty pics. OH and me basically agreed what we want from our photos;
    a group photo
    one of the family
2 or 3 good shots of the 2 of us.

With a small list, we've gone for a much cheaper photographer as we're confident that we'll get what we want and anything over and above this is a bonus.....

I have let my head rule my heart on this one and we are definately having the cheaper photographer, will post the £50 deposit tomorrow and the rest next month.
    Now onto the next decision.
Music for the ceremony and pre dinner champagne reception.2 hours in total.
I chose my musicians ages ago because not only can I afford them but they play my entrance song, pachelbels canon, really well.So tonight I decided to get down to the business of choosing the rest of the pieces I want from their repertoire.I have never looked at that before and once I take off all the folk, jazz, etc which i dont like i am left with very little to choosefrom.infact out of the 22 classical pieces for trio(cant fit a full quartet in the venue)there are only 2 i like. Also like 4 of the modern/film pieces so thats 6 tunes plus canon from their entire repertoire which I actually like.I should have thought this one through a bit more.
I do like them and the main thing is my entrance music so I guess it will be okay.I wonder if the guests will notice if I just get them to repeat some tunes?

Must phone them tomorrow as a matter of urgency as I have just discovered the entrance song which I discussed with them is not even on the repertoire list for the trio.

Music problem solved.I spoke to them, should have done that before I panicked about it.They dont have all the repertoire details online and can basically adapt anything to suit a trio including thankfully my entrance song.So I will go back to the site and choose from the repertoire and ask about anything else I want to see if they can do it.I really would like some Beethoven so will e-mail tomorrow and ask them.

We managed to get our order of the day confirmed this evening and have decided to do speeches. We were thinking of missing out lots of the usual stuff as its such a small wedding but when trying to figure out what to do when we realised there was nothing to plan around.
    Order of the day is
string ensemble and photographer arrive about 1.30pm and work until 3.45-4.00 respectively
2pm ceremony(still have to plan the ceremony content)
2.30-4pm champagne and canapes with classical music in the background, photos taken during this time also.
4-5pm is a one hour break to freshen up before dinner if needed and to walk the dogs
5pm first course of our 5 course wedding meal is served
7pm or thereabouts we finish dinner and the speeches start
    SPEECHES
    mother of the bride
    groom
    best woman
    FIL
My son will be toast master
7.30-7.45pm or whenever speeches finish, cutting of the cake(may get a staged cake cutting photo taken earlier)
8.00pm first dance as husband and wife followed hopefully by everyone else joining in and dancing, after our dance we may play"everybody dance now" to get them dancing
10.30pm everyone outside to release wish lanterns and we will have sparklers too
11pm a hot supper, still to decide what to cook but it will be something like german sausages, hot steak baguettes etc
whisky round an open fire, maybe marshmallows, who knows.or We may all fall asleep before supper.

OMG!!!I could cry.I recieved the e-mnail this morning re the trio repertoire and mailed back to let them know I was choosing the playlist and would be in touch to confirm my choices.I just checked my e-mails and theres another e-mail from them, they cannot find my booking form and are no longer available on my date!
I dont have my musicians anymore.SOOOOO bloomin annoyed and upset about this .Surely if someone confirms a date, decides times and price, asks for a contract and deposit amount and has been in contact with you since to decide playlist etc you at least let them know before you give someone else their date.I have a copy of the contract in front of me.The contract states balance due by 5th september 2009 but that the booking is not confirmed until full balance is recieved. Why have they given my date to someone else?I bet they got a better paying job, more hours or something.Their rate is 50% more now than when I booked them.I have been in contact with them recently and they didnt say anything, thought there was nothing else to do until I had to decide the final playlist, now this!
Just when everything was falling into place and I felt I was getting to the end of the planning I have to start over with looking for a string trio for my ceremony and recepton music.
Or I could just save another £400 and use a classical CD instead?

Nearly 1am and I need to go to bed now.I think i have found every string quartet or trio in scotland.Ruled out some based either on quality of online samples or very high prices.Have e-mailed 4 asking for availability and quote, have another 3 to contact tomorrow.need to find contact details for one I saw mentioned but I can,t find their website, they are Amici string trio,if anyone knows how to get in touch with them let me know please.
    And so to bed.

Well I have sent e-mails off to 8 new quartets, all of whom I like but I do have a couple of favourites. Now all I can do is wait and see who is available or willing to travel to my venue for 2 hours work, and of course the price.I expect I am very unlikely to get musicians for £330 now.I really want a live quartet though,I definately would not be happy with a cd.

It says on the website os the cheaper photographers you have chosen "
    • a friendly, helpful approach to guiding you through your photographic requirements
…and a determination to meet your requirements"

So.... you could let them know the sort of photos you require are like the expensive ones... A lot of the the expensive ones are special because they show people walking towards the camera...perhaps you could ask the cheaper one of they can do this for you.
