I had them in my living room coming in from the skirting on an outside wall.I got one of those Nippon traps (2 in a pack from around £2.75 any supermarket has them) and they were gone within a couple of days. They take the poison to the nest and it kills them all off.Never had no bother since and that was about 3 months ago.0

Hi everyone,
I have got a really bad ant problem, the little pests are everywhere!! I blocked up their main entry point with a blob of blue tack, but they're clever, and have found other ones.
As I don't agree with killing them, does anyone have any natural deterrents that might work? The first time I tried eucalyptus oil, it kept them at bay for a few weeks, but they seem to have become immune to this now. I've also tried cinnamon, cucumber peel, vinegar, mint tea bags...
All suggestions gratefully accepted!!0 -
A line of chilli powder across the entrance worked for us a couple of years ago.0

I buy cheapest talc I can find and put that down, that seems to deter them, you can watch them approach, stop, probably sniff, and then turn around! I assume it's the fragrance they don't like, I usually buy cheapo baby talc from Wilkos or somewhere.0
