Selling stuff on ebay for 99p

Speaking as a seller, it pleases me that so many people still see the postage as "free"....<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0

I made that mistake when posting small items. I used bubble wrap and old primark bags, but they were slightly too big to fit through the large letter hole, so they charged me double the price of what I should have.0

Thanks everyone, got hold of some padded envelopes and they fit in fine as a 'letter' rather than a package, 76p instead of £1.50 or whatever it was. Still wasted about 3 quid sending the others but have learnt my lesson!0

I agree Amazon is great for selling DVDs and CDs - it's completely free to list and you can set your own price (they add on a fixed amount for postage). I never sell books, DVDs or CDs on Ebay - I think that most people who are looking for these would start off on Amazon.0

Well done! :T I used to make the same mistake and could never figure out how sometimes posting seemed so cheap (well in comparison at least) and other days so expensive. I noticed it was with different post office staff too - some would measure and others wouldn't and would just class everything as a packet. But then i got wise, lol!Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0

Yeah I went in two post offices today, one near my work and the other near my house, the second one was alot more helpful. Still annoyed I sent 5 'packages' earlier without realising I could have saved half the price. I know it's only 3 quid but the point is thats still a pint of lager!
Another question-
Ive got about 4 sized different padded envelopes. if someone buys 2 dvds and I need to post those two, should I do them individually or post them both in a bigger envelope? Might be a silly question but I aint queuing in no post office with the wrong goods!

Depends on the weight. Weigh them together and then individually:
1) together they would have to be sent as packet so check the weight against the packet section as it would be just one parcel.
2) Individual they could each go as large letters, check and calculate the sum of the two.
See which option is cheaper. Ultimately though, consider the cost of the extra envelope...i doubt it'll be all that much diference but every penny counts.Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0 -
