Selling stuff on ebay for 99p

Don't get me wrong, I know every penny counts and all that, but what do you actually make out of selling say a dvd for 99p? Even if you sell quite a few...
I mean the postage must cost about 60-70p, then there is the 10% they charge for final sales.
Or am I missing something? Fair play if you could post your unwanted cheap crap like dvd's and cd's, but you have to pay at least half of what you make at selling it for under a nicker...
I dont know alot about ebay , just a thought

I only sell stuff for 99p where the postage isn't compulsorily free - I don't see how you can make any money that way0

But if you have a look, the majority of used dvds sell on there for 99p with free postage... Doesn't seem worth it at all. Less agg throwing it in the bin surely.0

I reckin a 99p DVD actually makes a loss. 76p to post, 10p for a jiffy bag approx 9.5p FVFs and 28p too paypal.
I think people have stopped selling DVDs as much though as I certainly can't pick up as many bargains as I used to.
When the free p and p came in I was actually buying DVDs on Ebay and selling them on at a profit on Amazon, haven't done that for ages now though.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. The problem with eBay introducing the free postage thing is people are too stupid to alter their prices to reflect this. I've been switching to Amazon and Play since eBay have been going downhill with stupid rules and higher and higher fees.0

I had not sold on Ebay for sometime but sold a number of items two weeks ago. It was not until I was listing the items that I realised all DVDs had to be free P&P. Thankfully I was only selling two DVDs. Annoyingly, although old, both were new and sealed. I didn't take the time like soolin to work out costs etc. I am sure I would have got more at a carboot. I have not sold on Amazon before but I must look into it esp. for DVDs.0

How much does the final cost come to after buying all the packaging etc, to send a dvd?
Is it 76p?0 -

76p is the cost of sending a large letter up to 250g by 2nd class post only.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Getting up their feedback scores?. People used to sell digital ebooks for 1 penny just to get their feedbacks up until Ebay stopped it.0

Right i've got a problem. Despite making this topic, I stuck about ten dvds on ebay, starting at 99p without realising you could no longer charge postage and package. The majority only sold for 99p. So we put them in the envelope, put a bit of bubble wrap round them and took them to the post office. Ok so we may make a small loss but it boosts our rep. Well the post office charged £1.41 per dvd to send! Meaning we've actually made about a 70p loss! can someone tell me why it was not 76p to send them as stated? i asked the post office bloke but couldn't understand him.
I've still got to send another 7 and i'm ballsed if i'm paying 42p more than what the buyers paid for them! in other words how do I get the p+p cheaper in terms of sending the dvds? This postage and package lark has ruined ebay, after we've sent out our items i've worked out we're about 8 quid down! Plus going out of ya way to queue up and post the items. Very embarrassing!0
