This stuff is way better than most things out there.
When it disappeared i called:
http://www.bio-tex.co.uk/contact
& they gave me the list of all my local shops which sell it.
Apparently they only sell at certain outlets these days, don't know why. I prefer the spray which i have to get from supermarkets, but the crystals are available from £shop.
HTHNo one said it was gonna be easy!0 -
I've been looking for Biotex crystals in supermarkets (Morrisons, Sainsbury, Asda) without success, and it's not in the discount stores locally (QD, Poundstretcher, Savers, etc).
A search of the websites shows that Asda apparently has it available for online orders, but Sainsbury and Tesco don't.
I contacted the company via email, with the following result:
Many thanks for your message regarding the availability of Biotex in your area.
You can purchase this from your local:
Tesco
Waitrose
Asda
Sainsburys
However these are only certain stores, not all.
You can also buy Biotex directly from: http://www.brandrefill.co.uk/
We’re glad that you enjoy using Biotex and appreciate your loyalty and custom.
Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any further questions.
Like other posters, I've found the ubiquitous Vanish to be less efficient, even with an overnight soak (the way I use Biotex). Looks like the company isn't that interested in selling the product.Smile. You'll feel better, and other people will wonder why . . .0 -
Have found Biotex in Wilkinsons, Robert Dyas and Asda0

Some time ago, I contacted the manufacturer and they stated that it was not that the product wasn't being made but that it wasn't being distributed in the UK. Apparently I could have got it in Denmark ... in the meantime, I had started using Dylon Squeeze and Brush stain remover (although I didn't use it as it is intended but decanted the product into a spray bottle and diluted it slightly to then spray directly onto stains) and that has been very effective for me. Whether it is something to do with the water in my area or the product itself, I don't know but I have never found Vanish very effective and it was all you could get anywhere!
However, a few weeks ago in a chance visit to an Asda looking for Biotex powder (because I was beginning to have difficulty finding that too in the supermarkets I more regularly use .....) gave me a wonderful double bonus of Biotex powder AND BIOTEX SPRAY!!!!! Happy days and thank you Asda .... :j0 -
I use Biotex regularly and have never had trouble sourcing it.
I'm nut sure where I got my last lot - I shop in Tesco, Co-op, Waitrose and Budgen so it must be one of those.0 -
I use cold water for bloodstains, hot water for everything else. I then soak in washing powder for an hour in the sink for individual items with problem stains, followed by scrubbing with neat washing up liquid and sometimes neat thick bleach on the stain or add bleach to the soapy water in the sink. I can get out any stain including spaghetgi bolognaise, the 2 trickiest ones for me being grass and oil, for these i use dylan stain remover 1 and 2. If anyone can recommend something to remove oil cheaply i would be grateful. Years ago i used soda crystals but i dont remember what for or where to buy them0

Just in case anyone is interested: Biotex Stain Removing Powder (500g) is reduced to £1.50 a pack in Asd* according to mySupermarket, compared to £2 in Sainsbobs and Waitr*se.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0

I have used Biotex for years. Now I can't find it in my local supermarket. I asked for it in our 99p shop but they don't sell it.I would like to know where I can get it again. I've emailed Biotex but haven't had a reply0

I was talking with a girl in our local Polish shop yesterday about Vanish. She claims the Vanish sold in Poland works well but that she noticed its British cousin is more or less useless.
Different formulation?
Personally I use Stardrops.0
