I have a lawn. LL says to phone him and he'll be over to cut it... thing is, I don't like to. Not read the whole thread, so sorry if it's already been suggested, but have you considered buying an extension cable and dangling that out the window ready for him. Then just tell him on the phone that you're busy so he can let himself in (to the garden) and get on with it. That way you wouldn't even need to see him.
