I do not like a certain money lending company at all. They are nothing but trouble and I cant wait to have saved up money to pay them off even if it means having to save an extra £1000 to pay off early. I asked about paying a lump sum (coming into a little bit of money as getting rent for a few months up front) and apparently I cant because its capped so i can only pay double my monthly amount. I cant find anything about it in the paperwork.
Paid the electric off.
Cheque for my old phone came only £20 but thats £20 I got for a phone I would have just thrown in the bin.
Dont know what the best idea is. I have £500ish coming from my new roommate in sept to cover him staying and also roughly £400 from my tax rebate should i save this to get away from the dreaded company (i dont know if im allowed to name names on this!) or to pay off my overdraft. It would be at 975 so that would basically be my overdraft paid off in Sept... That sounds good though.
Ye FireFox I had a pretty good birthday. Seen the guy a couple of times since the last time I mentioned him. I dont know whats going on there though and im quite happy with that :rotfl:
Most amounts for debt updated - the only one not an accurate figure is the double glazing because the interest is awful and I never know how much of a (tiny) dent in the balance my payments make. I have learnt my lesson about credit through home lending companies - Dont do it !0 -
I have paused my contact lense delivery for 3 months as I havent been wearing them as much so still have a 3 month supply after my current lot. Saving £13 for 3 months.0

Not sure how I have managed it but I have roughly 200 in my account and everything has been paid ! This hasnt happened in about a year.
Also my overdraft is still coming down and at £1200 doesnt seem that much at all. That means I have paid off £1800 since JanuaryI have decided the money I am getting from the tax rebate and the rent will go to my overdraft so that I will have a positive amount in my current account. I looked at my old bank statements and i literally have been living in my overdraft for just a little bit over 2 years ! This actually makes me feel sick because the amount I must have paid in interest over this time. When I am out of it I dont plan on ever getting an overdraft again.

:j You are doing absolutely brilliantly! :j
I am plotting my first Grocery Challenge next month, inspired by Weezl74 (Eat healthily on 50p a day) and Mbaz (£20 to feed a family of 4 for a month). Perhaps you could start an extra challenge so you can put all that adrenaline to good use??Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Thank you  When i see it written down what i have paid off instead of what i still owe i like it better :rotfl:not at scary !
I literally dont go shopping for food on a big scale anyway. Own brand food stuffs and i eat at work most of the time so it is pasta and sauces i eat mostly at home. So id easily do the challenge for the food shopping its the "one chinese take away wont hurt" thing i need to stop. I have decided to throw away the menus on my big clear out later on after work so im not tempted anymore.0 -
Ok so I have done some spending that wouldnt really be called important while I am in debt, but I think its important for me
Bought a new duvet, pillows, duvet cover and cushions - 40 in total. The duvet I had before was looking quite horrible even after being washed so thought that it was time and also spilt nail varnish on my bedding, took that as a sign to buy a nice fresh one.
Also finally bought my bookshelf for my bedroom as there were STILL boxes around the house with my stuff in it after moving in here closer to 3 than 2 years ago now. Was only 20 and i can buy another one to fit into the space beside it should i need more space, but at the moment i dont so saved myself 20 for not buying it right now which is what i usually would have done.
Have done loads of extra hours in work this month already so next months wage will have roughly 100 extra. Next month is sounding good on the money front, tax rebate hopefully coming by the end of next month, money from the new roommate in a lump sum (things have changed cant remember if i mentioned but 1 roommate for 2 months -300 (family) and my friend is moving in after that). Overdraft will be at 975 at the beginning of next month so add the 700 from various sources and that means itll be at 275 ! Then ill just have to work extra hard in Oct to pay that last 275 off and i will be overdraft free.
Did spend on my credit card though, but after my overdraft is gone the credit card will be gone aswell. Also need to buy a new unit for the livingroom as my current one is falling apart, have found 1 that matches my things at 1/2.
Quite happy with my home at the moment so dont grudge staying in as much now that its looking better.0 -
Happy ! My cheque for my tax rebate came this morning ! So much for up to 8 weeks the woman on the phone must have liked me
£422
Thats going to the bank this afternoon. I dont feel so bad for buying the new things for my home now because I had extra money this month and now with the cheque everything is good.
Got asked about doing more overtime in work but I need at least one night away. Practially living there at the moment.0 -
Ooooooh you need to be comfy in bed so you sleep well - overtime and debt-busting is tiring work!!
But you only spent £40 on bedding and £20 on shelves? Bargaintastic!

I know ! I was really quite proud of myself, I could have bought so much more if I hadnt contained myself.
Im just off the phone to the evil factorers. I dont like them, asking me to pay over £100 a month to clear the arrears. I dont think so ! Youll get £40 and youll like it. Really though who has an extra 100 odd to pay factors' for not doing anything anyway ! I have asked for a statement with everything on it and i bet i wont see that.0 -
Oh dear. I havent been very good this week at all ! After doing so well restraining myself from the shopping the take aways and junk food went through the roof as i was "treating" myself since I had "lots of extra money" (not really because it should have all went on my debt). Oh well. Ill see what happens after payday and the DD come out. See how much extra I can take off my overdraft. Its amazing to see that itll be at least 975 in a couple of weeks.0
