Hi Claire just found your diary.
Sorry to hear about your break up from your bf, hope you're doing ok.
You're doing well with paying off the debts, I would add one thing about Dooyoo. Try not to churn out too many reviews in one go as people wont read you. If you do two of three a day max, and read other people's reviews you will get a lot more from them.
Also if your reviews aren't up to standard ie just passing the 150 work mark, then Dooyoo may block the cheque when you go to redeem it.
I don't want to put you off the site as it's a great one to join.0 -
Had a rubbish day (too many tears for my liking !) and feel like a chippy dinner or a chinese to really make me feel better but im thinking about the implications of that wee dinner on my purse.
My mortgage fixed rate runs out in Feb 09 and I have started looking at what that means because I have totally no idea what I have to do when that ends.
Had a long talk with my brother (hes the person who is moving in) and he will be paying rent from sept so that I dont have to look for another person to move in but I have said that he doesnt have to contribute to the other bills until he moves in properly. So 150 extra for a couple of months before he moves in to hit the debt with.
Have decided that after all my debt is gone I will def look into going to camp america the year after or travelling so that is something positive to look forward to. Only have to pay off around £7000 in a year and get the remortgage sorted out, start saving and then sell the flat and go offSeems like a lovely dream

Hi Claire
There is a lot of info on here about mortgages. My understanding is that once your fixed rate ends, your current provider will let you know what rate you will be on and on what terms.
You can then shop around and work out which is best for you. It may be to stay with current provider or may be to change to another. You have to remember there are often a charges involved so best to get all the info you can. Have a look on the mortgage guides and mortgage boards on here for info.
I'm sorry to hear about your breakup and glad that your friends are rallying around! It definitely takes chocolate!!!
I've managed to build up about £25 on quidco just buying things that I would buy anyway. There are sometimes some really excellent deals which don't even cost you anything - like free trials of services. (there was one a while back which got you something like £7 for a free trial of experian or similar - credit rating checkers.)
And when it comes to renewal of house insurance you can get mega amounts!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -
Wages messed up again ! Short by almost £100 which is a huge hit to my budget as that was meant to be for food and travel for the next couple of weeks. My manager isnt back from their holidays for a good while yet aswell so I cant even get it sorted out anytime soon. So i have had to borrow money from my brother, which I hate doing because I want to be able to cope financially on my own.
Bright side is the interest on my a/c and my overdraft is part of my other budget so I havent touched that and my overdraft is now at -£1425, when my wages went in today it was the first time in a very long time that it was under the -£1000 mark ! Very nice to see that something is going right.0 -
Used my CC for £8.95, this was 2 meals and 2 drinks though and half was paid back from my friend. I couldnt use my bank card because of the short pay but really needed a girlie chat so I think this was an important CC purchase =P Means ill have to pay £20 (I try to pay £20 each month), £8.95 for the dinner and interest next month to the CC.
Not long til my birthdayHave started planning the night and looking for a dress. Will also make an appointment to get my hair done bank of mum has insisted !
Will update the new debt figures once all the bills have been paid.
Think July is going to be a hard month money wise =(0 -
Completed 3rd pinecone survey in the last week and a bit, rec'ed the vouchers for first two already. Hoping after my next one the money will start going to my paypal instead of the vouchers.
Got my first birthday present today, quite early but I wasnt going to complain ! Some lovely clothes, which I partly got to pick without knowing !
Also reached my first amazon voucher on dooyoo, going for 25 I think and I can get some new things for my house which I have been putting off buying for ages.0 -
Sorry to hear about the break-up. I save my Pincone vouchers til I have £9 then add three bottles of wine for a tenner to my supermarket shop. Cheaper to have a few nights in with the girls than all night outs!! :beer:Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Hoping that the money will start going into my paypal account and then just save it up. I have put my paypal account into my details so just waiting for them to start using it
Looking into what stuff I want from Amazon, its like a wee present to myself
Signature is getting updated in a min with the new amounts, looking a bit better. The interest on my overdraft is alot less than it was last year (talking 50 a month last year !), saving a ton just by getting debt free which is great.
Talked my brother into giving me a lump sum when he moves in for a few months and Im going to save £100 for a rainy day and the rest Im going to put straight into the debt for the windows.0 -
Just read through- well done on all your progress so far. Keep at it. I find onepoll good although takes time to get to 40.00 for payout- I'm not even halfway there yet! Getting in a lodger is a great idea and will really have a positive impact on your debts.
Good luck
