Did you seriously just call me a dumb a.ss? :rotfl: Crikey, you're a one, lol. The brand names are welcome to you, TBH. They clearly don't help with anger management...

you had to come back with somethng didnt you. Human nature people will say anything not to loose face wont they even if it rubbish.

Im not dumb and not really angry. I am actually amazed that you could be so thick not to understand that if you have a bottle that is cheaper but dosent last as long then its false economy and your not saving! Its not hard to understand is it! Thats why i called YOU dumb.

You didnt really need to call me superior either did you just respect my opinion that i value my body and my health and what i put into it. There is no joy in being a skinflint etc. If you dont then thats your problem. I am just doing whats right for me i certainly dont feel superior but am amazed by people who buy cheap yet smoke and drink or buy loads of lottery tickets etc.

I would hate to come to your house for tea if all you buy is rubbish. Occassions can be spoilt by crap food. People will always remember an event when the food is good.

Thats all i can say otherwise it goes on and on.

Crikey, if we really are into name calling (and you started it with calling me a dumb a.ss even though you now seem to believe I called it you  ) then you are a virtually illiterate, bigoted idiot. I've read better prose from my 7 year old nephew. But I won't put you on ignore due to the comedy value of your posts.

Ooohh, the irony in calling me dumb when you witness this beautifully-constructed piece of anger-inspired nonsense. :rotfl: So, say the cheap bottle costs 20p and the expensive bottle costs £1, and the cheap bottle lasts for 2 weeks and the expensive bottle lasts for 6 weeks....which is the best value? I'll let you use a calculator if you need to.

lol @ red devil. Most cheapo foods are no different.

You pay a premium on branded goods to pay for their tv advertising and suchlike.

I buy cheap food, but i don't feed my family with crap, we eat very well - most things are no different to shops own.

You're the muppet for thinking a famous brand name guarantees better quality. That's unfortunate for you, but nobody cares what you buy, so why judge us for making the most of our budgets with food that was probably made by the same people, in plainer packaging?

    You're very immature.

I must admit I'm a Kellogg's or nothing girl. Any other cornflakes I've tried have been poor imitations of the real thing & to me it's worth the extra money to have the Rolls Royce of the cornflake world.

From time to time supermarkets have special deals on Kellogg's cornflakes, such as buy 2 packs of 750gm for £4. When I see any special offers or deals I stock up & I feel a bit miffed when I have to pay full price now I have to admit. :o
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

I am very confused - why would somebody with such an aversion to value brands even join a forum on MoneySavingExpert.com?

The clue is in the title, surely?

most things are no different to shops own.

Disagree you get what you pay for same with clothes etc!

    You're the muppet

.but nobody cares what you buy,

nor do they care what you buy pointless discussion.

I used to buy Mcvities digestives, once at work someone offered me a tesco value digestive - I couldn't tell the difference so in cases like this why pay more for the branded names

I also like the taste of value baked beans, I find them tasty.. :D

I take alot of care about what I eat and am not tight, but I don't think we have to pay alot more money for a very similar product just due to the packaging.

I'm sure not ashamed to go to a till and pay for value products

    Crownfield from Lidl.

Stick em in a Kellogs box, and no-one bats an eyelid, and swears it's Kelloggs as with many other "non" brands. It's all in the mind, there is virtually nothing difference in taste. All you are paying for is the advetisting and the CEO's merc.

Absolutely agree. Like I've said before, IMO most people (even though they don't know it or in many cases won't admit it) 'review' with their eyes. Take that sense away and it becomes a much more level playing field. Which is probably the reason most so-called wine buffs are more than reluctant to agree to a blind taste test, lol.
