Now I'm getting all paranoid regarding my powers of perception as I genuinely haven't witnessed this 'soggy' Sainsbugs basics cornflake 'problem'
. Maybe I'm getting old? Whatever, they are 46p for 500g so in this case getting old is good for the wallet...:D

Definitely worth a shot - they're 79p for a big box and if you don't like them the birds will eat them!
Also "country barn" do special flakes, taste like special k.Half the price and imo just as tasty.0 -

Please don't be paranoid, I didn't mean the Sainsbury's basics ones were soggy, I just was talking generally about soggy cornflakes..
To be honest unless I try them out I'm unlikely to find out for myself but I was just curious how different the feedback was on them... Has your wife converted to them yet or does she stick with Kellogs? As you say the price difference is huge! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I'm not a cereal fan at all (can't stomach it any more) but I'm surprised that there can be such a difference between brands on something as basic as cornflakes.
How do somewhere like Tesco manage to have an own brand and then a value brand with what seems to be a difference in flavour and texture? Is it even economical to have what amounts to two seperate production lines for the sake of this? If they scrapped the value ones, would Tesco customers really go elsewhere just for cornflakers in order to save 20p or whatever?0 -

My husband is the cereal eater in the house and have tried other brands but he says Kelloggs is the best. It depends whether you're willing to sacrifice taste for saving money...0

i cant believe people scrimp and save so much when it comes to putting decent food into your body.
I buy kellogs they arent expensive neither is Weetabix. It would make me feel crap keep buying value food all the time my body deserves more;):footie:0 -

Does he get served out of the logo emblazened box or out of a Tupperware-type box? Take the vision out of taste testing and you can sometimes get a very different result (I've done this loads of times and in the majority of cases my family didn't tell a difference between the brand name and even the Sainsburys basics equivalent).Call me Carmine....
