so what if I've never been declined credit?
so it will only take into account salary and length of employment?
do you know what companies belong to nhunter?
do Virgin belong to this?
You miss the point, N Hunter is a FPA (Fraud Prevention Agency) and all subscribers (lenders) integrate applications with the N Hunter system to flag for abnormalities. In essence all banks use them as the software comes as part of Experian Data Analytics (i.e. Experian owned)
Make sense? Don't worry but stop lying - thats the best advice and dont apply for a while or it will flag up the abnormality.

yeah so what I need to know is what occupation do I put down?
What I am asking is does the application information they hold include occupations etc?
And which address must I use?? I'd have to change address with all companies, phone bills, banks, savings, electoral roll etc.
Not sure if it would take a few weeks to do so. If some were registered at my parents address would it go against me?0 -
Some applications ask for an occupation, some just ask for a salary
Depends on what you're applying for
It wont show on ur credit file what occupation you put down or what salary
But from what i understand from NID, if you make numerous applications and vary ur salary in each application, it will be picked up by a fraud prevention agency'Sometimes you just need to keep your mouth shut':j0 -
Application fraud will prevent you obtaining any form of credit, just try and keep the data factual and not "fictional", most firms like Experian, Equifax, CIFAS and Hunter et al use data mining techniques to forecast, predict and view trends in your personal data, if too many irregularities appear then you are asking for trouble.

I think some companes have their own internal credit scoring system so things like employment will affect the overall decision as other factors are taken into consideration as well as credit scoring'Sometimes you just need to keep your mouth shut':j0

Let's just say I had to bend the truth regarding my income/occupation to obtain recent credit
Hi Gareth,
Did you bend the truth on a mortgage application? From my experience, they were quite strict in checking employment status and income, and that was in 2007 when credit flowed freely. OH had to supply copies of his books an dtax returns and I had to supply payslips and they contacted my employer to confirm my salary.
Have you got a mortgage offer in writing? Its not uncommon for a mortgage lender to do a second credit check just before exchange of contracts, and if any abnormalities come up they can pull the funding.
I would be extremely wary of mortgage fraud. The difference between a little white lie on a mortgage application and on a CC is huuuuuuuuge!!0 -
Why would you want to bend the truth anyway?
Do you not have a good job and income? Or worried you wont meet the critera with your current job status and income?'Sometimes you just need to keep your mouth shut':j0 -
Irrespective of where and when you "lie" on an application, which seems to be a method of gaining credit these days, you will be caught out.
The vast majority of information systems now sharing data between them means that the net is closing...fast.
The sooner these "fraudsters" are marked and held accountable the better, data is a wonderful entity however it can ruin your financial profile for a long, long time.

For the purpose of the CC application it will be the same salary just using my real job. I had to bend the truth for my mortgage as I worked through an agency.
The mortgage has gone through fine, I have now moved in the new house.
I just don't know whether to apply for CC now or once I have taken weeks to change all addresses etc????
If I use new address now there will be no credit files with me at that address hence I should use my parents?
I also don't know if the previous job I put down will be compared with what I put down for the CC application0 -

I don't want to bend the truth now. But I want everything to tally up.
But if I start putting new addresses, new jobs then it might flag up??0
