CC Applications, Credit Checks and Occupations....??

Right, lets put this to bed.
The reason you should never lie on an application is because the CRA's systems are interlinked, as previously explained, to the N HUnter system. The N Hunter system picks up abnormalities. The data they hold looks like the following example, thanks to Innocent...
From this you can clearly see the info they hold about you. Each field has a code linked to the lender application system and if there are major differences then you will be declined, possibly gaining a CIFAS in the progress.
You have to start, from here-on-in, telling the truth on every application you make.

Thanks for that
But will Virgin Money know/be able to see what I put down on my recent Abbey mortgage application?
Surely they would go on my parents address as that is where all my good credit is held0 -

have you read anything that i've typed? The answer will stay the same, regardless of how you word it..... the N Hunter report is above - read this! Each lender has these fields dragged from their systems and interrogated by the N Hunter system to check for flaws!
In your case, you say you live at parents but have mortgage elsewhere - this means there is an error and will be flagged! If you do a SAR on N Hunter you may find the text 'Applicant Refer' where the previous address section is and if so this is very very bad - means you will not get credit until this drops off (i.e. you start applying normally using correct data).
No way around this, that is why the N Hunter system works!

It was lucky you said that, I was just about to apply for a credit card and put my income as £10,500,000

I have read what you said and this is what I don't understand:
If it picks up a report for each and every loan, credit, accounts I have then all addresses will be wrong at present so will taht flag up fraud.
I could easily write into each individual bank, credit card etc. but they might not update their N-Hunter records etc. by the time I apply
hence why I want to know whether to use my parents address now as everything will tally up with this aside from mortgage0 -

Ok, so have you always applied at parents, but lately you got mortgage at new address right? If so then that is fine. If you've been at parents, moved to your own place and got mortgage then applied back at parents, i;d be surprised if you got the account - it should auto decline and place cifas category 4 (application fraud).....
I'd not apply for anything until you are sure you;re properly registered at your own property and move all accounts from parents to your address asap! This way all the data will be moving round the same time which will cancel out any fraud markers as a plausible excuse.
Do not apply using parents address, you will not get very far!

on the application you want to do, there will be an option to give a previous address; most say you must have lived at your current address for 3 years min, or they want a previous.
so tell the truth - current address is new house where you have the mortgage, previous address is your parents.
that way they will see the positive mortgage info, and then check the data at your parents as well.
regarding occupation, people change jobs from time to time. I seriously doubt that would triggera fraud flag.
why try and complicate the matter by lying about your current address ?Karma is a wonderful thing.
