regarding occupation, people change jobs from time to time. I seriously doubt that would triggera fraud flag.

I agree, this would only happen if too many changes in a short space of time, for instance today I apply for a card and quote my employer as XX company, tomorrow I apply and quote it as YY company and next week I apply and quote employer as ZZ company. This would generate fraud warnings via CIFAS and N Hunter.

Same with salary and work details such as phone number....

Ok, so have you always applied at parents, but lately you got mortgage at new address right? If so then that is fine. If you've been at parents, moved to your own place and got mortgage then applied back at parents, i;d be surprised if you got the account - it should auto decline and place cifas category 4 (application fraud).....

Yes this is what I was getting at, but with all my other financial affairs being at my parents address I thought this would trigger fraud perhaps? I wasn't sure how the system operated. I presumed from what you were saying is that any anomaly will raise suspicion

I'd not apply for anything until you are sure you;re properly registered at your own property and move all accounts from parents to your address asap! This way all the data will be moving round the same time which will cancel out any fraud markers as a plausible excuse.

When will I be properly registered though? I have informed council tax (I guess this is the electoral role too?) Do I need to wait for land registry details etc. etc.

How long should I give my banks, credit cards to ensure their details are updated with my current address? Will they update N-Hunter immediately?

Do not apply using parents address, you will not get very far!

Okay, this makes more sense. However I applied for the mortgage using my parents address for correspondence etc. So will the mortgage application details actually be based on my parents address?

I know this sounds stupid, but I want to get it right so that I don't get declined which will affect further applications.

Mate, you're really not listening. What i'm saying isn't rocket science and no matter how many permutations you hit me with the answer remains the same - you cannot apply for anything at parents anymore - forget this!

Pointless going over old ground, from here-on-in you must apply using your details. What is there to get wrong in doing that, which , is the truth isn't it?

Be honest - nothing more to say on this i'm afraid. Change all details to your own address and start applying using that.

If you get declined then come back and we'll advise about N Hunter SAR etc (if necessary)

    NOO DONT DO IT.

Same happened to me lived at my parents address until 2005 moved out not changing my bank detials as I viewed all my statements online so it wasnt an issue etc.

I finally changed my address with the bank the end of 2007 to my new address. I then foolishly applied for a bank account at HSBC said I lived at my current address 3 years which is correct in theory.

Ended up with CIFS marker on my credit file for application falsehoods as address details and lengh of time at address did not tally up.

I should have really known better *rolls eyes*

What things are needed to be changed?

    So far I have changed:

    Paypal
    Ebay
    Egg Money
    AMEX
    Barclays Current Account
    A&L Current Account

What about mobile phones, car insurance (paid annually)

What about Broadband I have in my name but will remain at my parents?

    Student Loans?

Anything else I may have overlooked?

Mate, in a nutshell if you pay them money then you should be writing to them telling them where you live. It doesn;t matter if you have BB at parents but don;t live there! It matters if Virgin or whoever are reporting you as being there when clearly, you're not!
