well, I have tried mine; OK on the 1st wash, didn't do so well on the 2nd, which was some dishtowels. Had to wash them again; both washes were on 40'. Will try them wiht some washing soda.

    Hi kittykat,

There's an older thread with lots of information and advice on soapnuts that should help so I've merged your thread with it to keep all the replies together.

I ordered my soapnuts from www.inasoapnutshell.com and they arrived on Thursday while I was away. OH is really impressed (though not used them yet). Might use up the powder weve got first otherwise it'll just sit there taking up space in the cupboard.

  • Ordered my free sample today. Lets see if they are any good. Do you have to put anything with them? Or is that only for a white wash?

I've used mine now 3 times and am really pleased with them. I added a few drops of lavender essential oil to the drawer and my washing smells lovely, I've also never had such soft clothes!!

The only thing it didn't get out was the stains on my son's bibs so I'm trying to find out about soda crystals, borax and ecover bleach
All in all though a great buy

  • I've just used my free sample. I've been using vinegar as well. I thought my clothes were a wee bit vinegary smelling using the soapnuts, but not when using powder for some strange reason? Anyhoo, I've managed to hang out my washing today for the first time in months! So hopefully the vinegary smell will go. I'll certainly be buying some.
