Best 30-day or similar sim contract for calls/txts and internet/email usage?

Hi there, just been released from my 3 contract using the 3 Like Home get-out clause (thank goodness) and now got my unlocked E71 ready for a change of network. I will want a new phone when one comes along that I like so don't want to tie into a new 12/18/24mth contract so just wondered what people's experience is of the best deal for calls/texts and data on a 30-day contract is? I would be looking for one that allows me to use 3G/3.5G and send/receive POP3/IMAP email using native phone client (i.e no port closing a la 3).

Also, do the networks allow you to transfer from a 30 day contract to a full length contract as a new customer i.e. all deals and free phones available etc, or would whichever short term network I use become a no-no when I want a longer contract?

Cheers

I'd say best prepaid is 3 LOL

    https://www.three.co.uk/Pay_As_You_Go/Free_SIM

£0 buys free Skype & MSN messenger
£25 recharge buys 3 months of 5000 3-3 calls, 150MB internet, unlimited texts & free voicemail.

    You can buy Stretch add-ons

    buy get
    £10 Stretch10 100 units = mins or texts
    £15 Stretch15 300 " = mins " "
    £20 Stretch20 500 " = mins " "
    £25 Stretch25 700 " = mins " "

you already have 3 months unlimited texts for £25 top up, so £25 buys 700 mins for the month or 500 mins & a £5 internet should you need more than the free 150MB in month 1, next 2 months top up whatever to cover your mins & additional £5 internet if needed

    Internet Add-ons

    Daily - 50p
    Weekly - £2.50
    Monthly - £5

Stretch and Add-ons last for up to 30 days.

3 has done to prepaid what it done to contract in 2003 ! FANTASTIC !!!, makes 3 contracts & india care laughable the new prepaid

errrr, thanks for that last post!!!

Seriously, not going near 3 again, on short term contract or anything else, so where's best of the other networks, full or virtual?

Im considering moving over to 3.
What problems did you have with them?
  • I left three after 3LH was dropped and moved to o2's simplicity 20 deal. Free internet or wi-fi, 600 mins and 1000+ texts for £20 on 30 day contract. Much better deal than previous.

Although I will say my C905 won't connect to the internet, due to three's software I think.

T-Mobile Solo 20 is pretty good
600 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited internet. It's a 30-day rolling contract, so you can get out of it easily
    Squirrel!
If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
    Now 20% cooler

What problems don't you get ? 3 contract is defo a no-no, but prepaid is no tie in & better than 3 contract now unless you need the unlimited landlines on 3's top plan @ £27 a month. The new plan extras beat the UK market.

Never once had anything go wrong with 3 payg, never had to call customer services & that's EXACTLY why I never had a problem once, no india interactions - NO WORRIES ! ;)

nope you need to download the settings for o2 to override the 3 settings, call customer services and ask they send the internet/mms settings ;)

£30+ VAT on T-Mob business buys you 2000 mins & unlimited texts, 30 day sim only :D

On 3payg you need never call india, it goes like clockwork as the whole payg billing is automated to the second, you do everything via my3 on handset on 3payg
