If your having feet problems, try getting your gait analysis done.
Im lucky, i have a neutral gait, but most people have the wrong trainers, have high arches, flat feet or over land heel first.
Worth the time before the next purchase of shoes.0 -
Nah I have neutral feet (already had it done) but when I get tired I roll one ankle or the other because my legs get lazy - been pretty tired this week so been doing it a bit more than usual so thought some slightly more cushioning shoes for long runs and races might be a good idea0

Bit of a meh run today
6 miles in 1:02:32 (10:24 pace) which is something like 4 mins down on the same route last week.
I think my body is rebelling after a couple of very good weeks in terms of mileage/distance per run/pace! Heavy legs at the start, and they didn't really go away. To add insult to injury from about mile 3 everytime I tried to pick the pace up I got a stitch forcing me to slow back down again. Clever how the body "talks" to you, if annoying! Doubt it was food/drink related as I've done nothing different today to any other lunchtime-run day. Least I completed the intended mileage though.
Some good weekend runs reading back - 22 miles
Total for the week = 6 miles0 -
Dont worry Krider - you do get plateau weeks where the body just says 'hang on a minute give me a bit of rest'
Well done on getting through it anyway! You will earn lots of improvement from that in a few weeks0 -
Did a 7 with some fartlek at lunch.
Was interesting...think I was going faster than I was supposed to be at the start, was finding it tough to get my breathing sorted, but after about 3 miles it settled down...then did a couple of 0.3mile(ish) sprints with a nice long rest between each, then about 1/2 mile sprint not far from home...Not very "fartlekky", I know - but every little helps - and I'm really starting to feel like my legs are remembering what "pace" is now
ETA: Oh, and I'm *knackered* now...don't know why, can't keep my eyes open...0 -
Glad it went sort of well Idio
Not enough sleep??
(I have to have at least 9 hours when in full training mode or I am grouchy)

You need an early night!0 -
Nah, *men* don't need sleep
Something I thought I'd mention on here, actually - kinda forgot to, though...went to visit my parents for my dad's birthday at the weekend and it was really nice. Sister was there with her fianc!e. Me and her bloke went out and did a 7.5miler, which was really nice, not sure why I never did that route before - did the first mile or so with my dad and sister, too - who did a 5k route. Was just really nice for us all to be out running together - kinda like the von trapp's, but runnier0 -
