I do more shopping at aldi rather than lidl these days, the offers seem to be much better and the fresher stuff stayes fresher for longer, also lidl's prices seem to be creeping up every time I go*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*No new toiletries challenge - use up the stash first!NSD Jan 2/150

I think Aldi prices have jumped up but in fairness so have many others0

I think both Aldi and Lidl's prices have increased because the pound is so weak against the Euro.
As my nearest Lidl is within walking distance I get the vast majority of my shopping there. I think own-brand stuff like laundry detergent, fabric conditioner and toiletries are fantastic value, plus stuff that the Germans like and are good at: preserves/jams, cold meats, cheeses, chocolate, cakes and biscuits. Their ground coffee is good and very inexpensive and so are the long-life fruit-juices, especially the cranberry. I sometimes hop on the bus and go to Aldi to pick up stuff that Lidl don't carry or just for a change0 -
i got Aldi bourbons yesterday - and they were cheaper than Sainsbury's basics!
I tried their Honey Hoops...instead of Kellog's Honey Loops...and was caught out immediately!:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
I would say in my area that the fruit and veg from aldi is superior to asda and tesco. I still do all my shopping at tesco's because I prefer their meat and frozen goods (and the clubcard) but Aldi is improving all the time0

Funnily enough, just had some of the harissa topped houmous on toast for supper, and thought it was absolutely delicious!!!
I find Aldi great - we have not noticed any difference in quality for the stuff I have bought. Kids love the mini choc ice lollies that they swear are Magnums.0 -
I do the majority of my shopping in aldi, just topping up in asda or morrisons for things like baby milk and other items needed but couldnt get in aldi!!
Love, love, love their thick and creamy yogurts!!! ds1 eats them like they are going out of fashion, and their brockwurst sausages taste as good as the ones you get in the mark off over in germany!!!!!!!!
I love the fact you dont have much choice, need beans, there is the beans. need rice pudding, there it is. hate when supermarkets have 10 different brands of what you want when you know they have all come out of the same factory!!!!!!December 2018: £20,850.24.
