i think maybe the store manager who whoever does the ordering doesnt order enough stock,

Think you're right - you'd think they'd realise by now how popular they are though!

By the way, their coconut milk is the best I've bought - it has little or no water in the can like other supermarket ones, so you can make a great sauce from it. I think the brand name on it is "Asia". My local Aldi is a bit hit and miss with stocking it so I buy as much as I can when it's in stock.
Wins so far: Signed Beyonce photo :D Gourmet Garden Apron :D Eartha Kitt CD & DVD :D BBC Spinechillers CD :D Feel Good Drinks cotton bag :D Radox Shower Gels and towel :D Case of Kasteel Cru Rose beer :D

I'm interested to read this as our local Somerfield is getting refitted as an Aldi and is due to open in June (Not yet though!) and I have been curious about checking it out.

I am going to sound really stupid, but do they stock "brand" names? If not, what are the good buys in Aldi? I have heard lots about the "Super 6" which I'm very excited about, but wanted to get some recommendations from Aldi shoppers.

    Thanks in advance :D

the brand names they stock are very rare, i dont think they sell any brand names as normal lines but they have had brands as specials eg items at special offer price,

theres this thread here which may be of help and heres they're website

FL, ill give you some tips for when and if you do shop there,

tip 1 take your own bags or boxes if you have your own car,

tip 2 if only getting a few things then you will need to either use a cardboard box you can find thats empty or nearly empty on the shelf and use the box as a basket iyswim or you use a trolley (its trolleys or nothing as baskets arent available) or you put your few items in 1 of your own bags

tip 3 i say take your own bags as aldi and lidl chare for theyre bags, i think the normal bags is 3p but could be wrong,

tip 4 when the till operator starts to scan your shopping you need to put it into the trolley asap and dont try and pack it on the small ledge as he/she can get a bit stroppy if you pack it and it builds up which means they need to stop which means theyre items per minute is affectedfor the day,

tip 5 once your shopping is in the trolley and you have payed then you can either pack it on the ledge by the window(you may see other customers doing the same) or if you drove then you could pack it straight into the car,

tip6 remember to take a £1 coin or a trolley token for the trolley,

tip 7 last 1, the trolley only goes 1 way(well it can go another way but it depends on you, you could always ask the operator if your not sure) when the checkout person is ready to scan your shopping,

The coconut milk is a special so is only in a few times a year rather than being a permanent item. They alternate what type of food is in the specials eg French, Chinese, Asian, Indian etc. HTH.

The till operater will normally ask you nicely to put it straight in your trolley, if you get stroppy with them then they will probably get stroppy with you because like you said it affects their items per hour and they then get pulled up for being 'too slow'. If you go into Aldi knowing how it works then don't try to do it differently because someone will end up annoyed;)

P.S. This is not a personal attack, just inside info:rotfl:

the specials do get repeated so there is a chance you do get to see the item again
