You may have your own version of respect for and trust in people. I'll stick with mine thanks. Just as a Court would, I go with the information before me. How you feel able to dispute an opening post is beyond me.
There's a name for people who believe everything they are told without at least a little questioning thought. The polite way of putting it is (sp) gullible.
Get off your high horse and stop having a go at everyone with a different slant on human nature to yourself:T:T:T:T. Oh, and you owe me £50,.... you don't?... you must do I said it 1st:rolleyes:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
The OP made a statement of events as he recalled. If you can't take that at face value and show the respect that all posters deserve then **** off.

Dear Neil, just to add if you make comments like that, telling everyone who has a diferent view to yours to **** off, well not much more to be said is there?I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

the swivel finger comes to mind.
if you didnt hit it, give as good as your getting, and report him (or tell him you will report him) for malicious rumours and attempted fraud.

It's very unlikely that the OP hit the car with sufficient force to cause damage and not feel it, so the only other alternative is that the neighbour is trying it on. That's what I was getting at, and I don't think the OP has done himself any favours by engaging with this person. I would simply have said that I didn't know what he was on about and that I didn't hit his car. I certainly wouldn't have passed over my insurance details.
Ah, my mistake Harry. Must have misread!

I just feel that it is odd when people post seeking assistance, which I understood to be the purpose of the forum, that in a very short time they are berated and treated with suspicion.
As I said, if the OP has some ulterior motive then why let it bother you as they will get their just reward.

I once thought I had hit something as I reversed, but the guy sitting in the car behind me said I had not hit him, turned out I had driven over a plastic pop bottle and the noise of it bursting had sounded like a knock. I think the guy thought I was a bit weird asking him TBH.The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

I think your first mistake was contacting the insurance, you obviously didn't hit his car.
Tell him to go f**k himself and let him call whoever he wants, he has no proof! he can call the insurance, police, or even take it to court and he will get laughed at!
I wish i had a neighbour like this, i need to vent some anger!!! :TThis thread has me so pumped, I headbutted my dog and we both screamed.0 -

That was the bit I found incredible. I can't dispute what you may have experienced but I am finding it all very strange here.
May be I am indeed gullible or maybe not as recently shown from experience of a thread on another forum.
A similar example to what you say. Woman posts for assistance with parking PCN stating missing/unclear signage. All pics she has shown confirm this - although she then mentioned the appropriate sign a ''long way'' further up the road.
I ask how 'far'. She dodges. I check streetview (albeit images are from up to 12 months old). Lo and behold, there is the sign, about one and a half car lengths away only.
On one of the pics she showed this sign was out of shot by a matter of inches. Either cropped or taken to avoid the sign showing.
All very daft cos she can't win so why continue.
Have I commented on this - No. Her problem that if she proceeds to submit a formal appeal she is committing perjury, liable to criminal conviction.
Soooo - that concurs with what you say but personally I take people at face value and IME this is a rare experience. I still prefer to believe people are genuine until I find otherwise.0 -
I was reversing out of my drive one day, ther was a car parked opposite on the road. The lady started banging on my window shouting I had hit her car !!!! I knew I had not 100% for one I knew I still had plenty of room to reverse form sight and the sensors were only beeping and nothing was on the screen in the dash board which goes green then yellow then red. Needless to say things got heated as she didnt like the fact I told her that she shouldnt park where she did as she is blocking acess (the road is only wide enough for one car). I didnt get out my car as she was standing so close to the car door !!! Not proud but in the end I did tell her to f off. Then I had to sit and wait whilst she opened her car door faffed about before getting in and driving off.
2 days later police at my door !!! Saying I had hit her car and drove off !!!
I gave my account of what happened went outside with the poice officer and said you tell me how I could have hit her without knowing. She was claiming that her car was damaged and needed repairing if so where was the damage to my car??? End result was nothing a letter from police saying no evidence no futher action.
She doesnt park there any more !" I would not change you for the world, but I would change the world for you"

When I see your face there's not a thing that I would change 'cause your amazing just the way you are0
