New rules - Does PWC on benefit receive ALL the maintenance?
Comments

The CSA have access to the benefit computers in that they can access every single person in the country's details if they want - only they can only actually do it legally if there is a case open and a a reason to do it. So, if a new case were open, then the CSA would check the benefit status of everybody concerned.0

Very true...
I'm the partner of a man who is a NRP and recently he requested full details of all information from CSA since the beginning of his claim as he rejected claims that he was in arrears (which he has proved right). Whilst going through the TONNE of A4 sent to us (I pity the junior who had to sit there photocopying it all :rotfl:), I came across one piece of paper which held details of my daughter which they should never have had....won't go into detail as it's confidential, but they basically had very irrelevant information, but still they had it!!! I didn't appreciate this and am still at odds as to whether I should make a complaint or not, I'm not sure if I'm really in a position to...that said, my child is not the subject of his claim and information thereon shouldn't be so easily divulged to a third party.
BIG BROTHER is watching us all..FACT!0 -
It may be that the info was required to determine how to calculate maintenance due - if that daughter lives with you, then you get a % reduction in payments out and under CS1 you got child allowances, so she would have been relevant to the case. They may have been checking that child benefit was in paymet.0

The previous threads have been helpful to me.
Basically, the CSA will know when calculating NRP arrears, whether a reduction for another child living in the household (his partner's) was being taken into account correctly.
My point is, his partner may have moved into his household and not divulged my ex's (NRP) income and therefore may have continued to receive working tax credit and other benefits attached to that. (My children think this is the case)
I can't prove that, but if what you say is correct and CSA can check the benefit status of everyone concerned, then possible fraud would get caught out eventually?

Hi, Kelloggs, would they check the system each year when a new schedule is calculated?0
-
no they don't check annually - a new schedule is computer generated unless there has been some change instigated by either party.0

How about if the NRP now has recently moved into a house with another child and has a reduction in payments?0

I'm not sure why the parents paying maintanence are so up in arms over this. I get income support-£64.50 I believe-for me. Child miantenance I presume is paid to support THE CHILDREN so I have nevver undesrtood why CM should reduce IS. However housing benefit I believe is on total income so it would make sence for that to be reduced,as I presume part of the calculation for working out the amount of CM includes housing etc. The whole calculation really confuses me,but if I was an absent parent paying CM I personally would wnat my kids to get it all.Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0

I absolutely agree with you, except that in my case I see the money being spent on handbags, acrylic nails, new shoes etc, new LCD telly. This clearly does not benefit the children - apart from maybe the TV ?? How can this be justified. Unfortunately I dont see anyway that we can ensure the PWC spends the child maintenance on the childrenI'm not sure why the parents paying maintanence are so up in arms over this.
