Reigning in the debt and ramping up the running

Hi All!
As some of you know I've been ill recently (about the last 10 weeks although really feeling it the last 6 or so) and have really taken my eyes off the debt ball a little
I havent really been well enough to cook after a day at work so have been buying lots and lots of ready meals and expensive food
This month will be a total right off as its my sisters wedding on Monday (present already bought thankfully )...but I need to get back on track before my debts get any worse
Am going to brave my online bank a bit later (and will no doubt be lving on beans for the rest of the month:eek:), and will hopefully do a full SOA in the next few days - I'd thought I'd do a diary so I actually have to stick to it this time
I also need to get back into running big style - in 2 weeks I can restart full training which leaves me 12 weeks before my next marathon so I am going to be busy
For scales sake my debts are (starting from 25th June - payday
):
£544.74 personal loan at 108.96 per month - will be paid off in November
£144.00 on my CC which I "lost" the card to a few months ago
£250 overdraft that I use about 1 week a month (currently -£77)
The good news is I earn £1,700 a month after tax, the bad news is I pay £800 a month rent and £65 a month bills for my flat - I am NOT prepared to move (sorry but I love the location and cant afford moving fees anyway
), I have very few other bills so I just need to get back on the ball and should be debt free by November if not earlier
I also have £26 music magpie to come in this month that should help and next weekend I'm in Bristol and the weeked after in Leeds so I only need to buy 8 days worth of food for £60 - should be easy
Anyway, wow what a lot of waffle
, please read and help keep me on the straight and narrow

Morning Becky!
Well done on taking steps to sorting things, must be hard with being unwell too.
With your salary and outgoings I think you'll do it in no time!! Totally understand re rent - ours is pretty high but like you we love where we live and can't afford to buy so this is our only luxury so to speak.
Hope the wedding goes well and best of luck in sorting those debts - bet you can't wait for the loan to finish!!

Hi Karen
Yeah tell me about it - £100 a month makes a huge difference - especially as my OH lives in Leeds so it can get expensive traveling up there (he comes down a lot too so thats good). I really should have been debt free ages ago - but I was good and paid £100 off the CC earlier in the month - I'll do that again on payday and then cancel it finally
The good news is I'm all better now - had a minor operation yesterday and already feel amazing - just waiting a week or two before I heal fully before I get back on the running horse0 -
Happy new diary!
I think running a marathon on a horse may be construed as cheating, btw...
Your debts aren't 'bad' at all, and I'm sure you'll have them cleared in no time, but having a diary does help to give you a bit of focus and motiation.
